Fuck Kalamazoo Michigan

i spent about an hour there today on my way home from detroit..... let me tell you why i hate it....

First i get off the interstate beacuse of a traffic backup, going to get gas, and find a short cut.

but then i decide to go to mcdonalds, i get a 3 piece chicken strip meal dealy..... when i get it it has the monopoly pieces ripped off of the box... not that i really care... so i ask for directions around the backup, and leave....

well ontop of the missing pieces, they also didnt get me my drink, and they also gave me wrong directions! so i go back, and get my coke, and my monopoly pieces (i didnt really want the pieces, but it was a principal thing) and they give me a fucking warm diet coke instaed of a regular one... i gave up and left.....

Then, i go and get gas... and i ask them for directions... they 2 dudes look at me all weird, and point to the maps on the wall... ok fair enough, but then i ask them how to get to 93, and they say look at the map again... the street was 2 miles in one direction.. im sure that one of them knew.

so i get out a map and start driving to 93, but none of the fucking streets are marked, and i end up getting lost for like an hour in this town.. and FInally get back on the interstate a few miles before where i got off in the first place....

oh and none of the local hotels , any of them, had wifi i could steal.... GRRRRR

What is so difficult about doing a halfway decent job at a fast food place these days? A few days ago I go to Taco Bell and order among other things refried beans (Pintos & Cheese is their fairy cutesie name for them) and a pepsi. They ask if I want sauce and I say yes, fire sauce (I'm a tough guy like that).

I thought they were asking that because they wanted to give me some sauce. Well imagine my fucking surprise to learn it must've been a SURVEY because they didn't give me any sauce.

So I go to eat my refried beans and find that I also have no fucking spork. I assume they want me to eat the beans through a straw but guess what? No fucking STRAW, either.

I'd have guessed at this point that they thought I could just eat the beans with my hands, but if that was the idea, seems like I'd have had some napkins.

WTF Taco Bell?!?!

Don't you mean you hate Mcdonalds? I have visited Kzoo once or twice for an Umphrey's show and I met lots of really cool people. The co-op is small but friendly and there is lots of cool shops down there.

you should've contacted me, i could've shown you a nicer side (as well as where you could get free wifi!)

and the interstate you were looking for (assuming you were going to chicago?) was 94, not 93...

Unfortunately for their fall tour they're coming to Michigan twice, and one of the times is over and done with. They came out to Detroit to play the Majestic in September. They're only playing Intersection. Glad they're not playing Bells, though. I'm not 21 so I can't get in! :lol: Last time they played bells they played Bridgeless into Walking on the Moon. You know how long I've been waiting to hear Walking on the Moon live?! ARGH!

:grin: i'm not 21 either, but happen to be good friends with some of the higher-ups at Bells, so tend not to have any problems getting in.

i'll talk to some friends this week and see about getting a ride to GR for the show. (and will most definitely PM you with details, Redstorm!)

a while back they played Bells, and then threw an after-party at my friend's house (his roomate at the time was good friends with Umphreys). unfortunately I was in Norway at the time...

I had a riot in K-Zoo on Saturday. Saw a band there and hung out with some locals till the wee hours. Even met a deadhead chick. Too bad she wasn't single.

The streets are VERY poorly marked in that city.

are you going to go? i've got friends in portland and stanford, and know a girl who moved to frisco, but am not sure if she'll be there (and am quite sure she wouldn't go to a dead show :sad: )...
