Working at Google

Got a 2 week temp job there.

Colorful offices!

Nice people.

Lots of nerdy guys, and lots of beautiful women. Very nice combo, and they all get along.

Free catered gourmet lunch, all you can eat, for everyone. Every day. Yesterday I had a tandoori chicken sandwich, a caesar salad, and some rice cooked with saffron almonds and raisins.

3 humongous outdoor balconies, one facing Times Square, where people smoke cigarettes and eat lunch.

Pinball machines.

Punching bags.

Coolers full of free: Coke Sprite Ginger Ale Red Bull Starbucks Drinks, Naked Juice, Odwalla, Orange Juice, Nantucket Nectars, Gatorade and Snapple...in every hallway.

A huge wall of containers of candy with miniature scoops and bags and stuff to get a bag of candy with.

Racks of snacks in every hallway. GOOD snacks.

Fresh fruit here and there.

Google rules.

you shouldnt eat all that free sugar they put here and there , its just a trick to make you work faster , stick with the fruit

Get good grades in high school, get your BS in computer science or computer engineering from a top 50 school, acquire five years of related experience, and you will have no problem getting employment at Google.

It's definitely awesome.

Right now I'm on my own laptop which I brought with me, surfing the wireless network on Google's 20th floor balcony. :grin:

this is one of the reasons why I don't buy google stock.

they waste their money like they are still in the midst
of the dot.com boom.

they have a lot of eggs in one basket and while ad sales
are keeping them booming along, I don't really have a lot
of faith in organizations that perpetually store data,
read your email and lavish employees with unecessary
luxury.

it'll run out one day.

I heard they also provide massueses to give employees back/neck massages.

That, kicks ass. I'd be addicted to working there, but of course that's the point, I suppose.
