    #4699437 - 09/23/05 07:15 AM (18 years, 6 months ago)

So now that Chamillionaire is starting to hit the mainstream, what's everyones thoughts?

Have you heard of him?
When did you start listening?
Favortie album? Song?

Essential listening:
Get Ya Mind Correct
Mixtape Messiah
Man on Fire

Look out for him on DJ Smallz Southern Smoke mixtapes(get these even if you don't like Cham)

The last 2 Southern Smoke albums(20 and 21 - not too fond of the Ultimate Freestyle Collection) are excellent. Love seeing more and more of Stat Quo.

Can't wait til Cham drops The Sound of Revenge.

Yea. I was enjoying Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and Chamillionaire all being underground. Now I have to hear all the old shit being played and these yuppies like "Yo dawg, check this new shit out".
Mike Jones is the worst. Nobody even knows how bad he got wrecked on Mixtape Messiah or how he(i'm pretty sure it was him) got caught jackin off in his dudes house. I can't stand hearing everyone talk about how good he is. His old stuff is alright, but his new CD was absolute trash except for maybe 2 songs.

But at least they're getting the money they deserve now. Shouldn't be long before chopped and screwed is mainstream. Then I can laugh at everyone that told me it was no good 5 years ago when they're playing it.

I've thought Chamillionaire sucked ever since i heard of him maybe a year ago. In comparison i think mike jones is, ehhh alrite concerning the few tracks ive heard.

I never understood how cham could release such an absolutely horrible diss track against mike entitled "you got wrecked." I swear if this was the first song of his i ever heard i would have refused to ever hear anything else by him.

I think i can sum it up pretty well by saying cham has no flow and mike has no rhyme.

Cham has no flow? Who do you consider to have it?

I feel Cham is one of the top lyricists; along the lines of Eminem. I just hope he sticks to his roots and doesn't go too mainstream with The Sound of Revenge.

Mike Jones is like a fat 50. No real flow, but knows how to make a crowd move.

Think your concept of flow is just different than mine.

I think flow is the ability to spit words and emphasises at certain times to make what your saying sound better.

Rhyming is the ability to rhyme your lyrics.

And the final and third element of rapping would be lyricism which is the most important.

So i think that both 50 and mike have better flows than cham. However i would say both 50 and mike arnt very good lyricists and cham is better at this. And cham's lyrics just arn't good enough to overide his flow.

My idea of good lyricism would be canibus especially "100 bars" or big l and jay-z on "7 minute freestyle"

Yea, I tend to blur the line of lyriscism and flow. How would you rate Ludacris in flow? The way he can stress things is pretty outrageous.

Have you heard the Man on Fire album yet?

Yea i would agree that ludacris does have sick flow in a lot of his songs and its fairly unique to him which makes it even better. I couldn't really rate it though.

I haven't heard Man on Fire.

I don't listen to that much rap anymore and when i do nowadays it tends to be shitty gangster/crunk rap music..... the all production and flow; no real skill stuff. i confess, i confess, its because my friends i swear

and on that note cue "roll call" by lil' jon

Have you ever listened to anything by Esham?
