ultimate place for a trip

sorry to create a new post on what i'm sure is an already discussed topic, but i couldn't find a post where someone mentioned what i think would be the best place for a trip.
how bout space, anyone?
to look down upon the whole world, to see our insignificance so plainly before your eyes. space travellers have said very good things about the experience, and i think it would even better to blast off(literally) just after a trip set in, spending the trip doing a few orbits, and then landing just as the trip was ending.
and who knows, thanks to Richard Branson, some of us might get the chance in a few years!

well branson said they would offer a flight similar to the one that spaceshipone made to the public for about 100k per flight(i guess its just a few minutes in microgravity though...
btw, if you plan on having enough money for the flight, maybe you wouldn't mind sending a little my way

Well, I was thinking some place realistic. Just about anywhere on the Appalachian Trail would be a beautiful and key place to trip. Seriously.

any place in nature is a fine place for em to trip.
usually if im away from civilization, i do just fine
im a city mouse with a sadness for the city itself.

It's nice. Even when your straight it is like walking through a different demension. And even when it is cold outside there is never any wind in the woods, coldness isnt a factor. It used to be a nice walk. But not anymore.
The woods behind my house that used to stretch out for a couple of miles are gone now. Been replaced with the usual subdivisions and I don't have a problem with that. But they allways cut down every single tree in the process of developement. Those woods used to mean a lot to me and they are gone.

Yeah, that is the sad story of development. Humans are gross. We need to die off a little. Entropy needs to come to fruition.

No, no need to start dying off. But why cut down all the trees. There has got to be a middle ground somewhere in there. I would pay more for the exact same house in a area that was naturaly wooded as opposed to one that has been stripped clean of everything with only some little shrub here and there. Thet just want to cram as many houses as they can, as close together as they can, with no consideration given to the quality of life.

humans need to die off so maybe on the next circle of life, the earth will be lucky and not see us

I'd love to trip at the Millbrook, NY estate where Leary and Co. lived in the late 60's, the Grateful Dead house in San Francisco or the La Honda house where Kesey and Co. lived.
Although the pictures that Todcasil just posted look very, very nice as well.
