I am a smoker but I think banning it in public is fine. If you don't smoke as a civil person I should not expose you to this.

As far as Ms. reeves That is really horrible. on the today show they said like only 1 out of 10 people diagnosed with lung cancer survive past 5 years. I saw my mom's best friend die of it and it's a very cruel disease.

I think when we make claims of banning things we should be more specific. Banning in public? lets be a lil more specific here...

a sidewalk is public, outside for the love of allah (new york would debate this differently)

would smoke in general be outlawed? or just tobacco?

tobacco should be banned, im always seeing my friends brothers (and my friends bros friends) smoking cigs.... they r like 12 or 13:crazy:

tobacco and alcohol will NEVER be outlawed i almost guarantee it, u know how much money the government makes off just those 2 things. in cali, a license to sell hard alcohol is 250k...YEA just for a piece of paper saying u can sell boose...

Sorry about that. I think it should be banned inside buildings. It would be stupid to ban it outside with all of the foundries and car pollution.

I think throwing a cig on a sidewalk is disgusting. I think that should be littering. It may already be but if it is they don't enforce here. I use my celifane* to keep my smoked cigs until I can find a trashcan. A habit I started when I started hiking.

Not THC, but marijuana _smoke_. To my knowledge THC is not poisonous/carcinogenic itself.

Just finished reading the research paper. Very interesting. I'd still like to point out that the research studied the effects of cannabinoids, while I was writing about marijuana smoke in general. Marijuana smoke contains carbon monoxide and tar -just about anything does, when smoked, right?

please correct me if I'm wrong.

Amen to that, though.

As far as regular smokers though, to each their own. I buy a pack of cloves a few times a year and that's it. I don't care about second hand smoke. I think rules against letting you smoke in bars here in cali are retarded. It's a fucking bar! If you're worried about your health, you shouldnt be ni a BAR in the first place. If the OWNER of the bar wants to allow smoking, he should be able to allow it, and if you have a problem with it, it's HIS establishment, so don't GO there. There are plenty of other places to go that are smoke free.

once when i was at a fair, i saw a 13-15 yr old girl holding a baby (it looked like she was the mom) in a pouch connected to her chest (so the baby was facing her) and she was smoking a cig and blowing it into the babys face:mad: (not entencually(sp), she was just ex haling but it was going into the babys face... fucking bitch)
