Oh Yoko!
    #4410979 -

i've always been a bit pissed at Yoko Ono, thinking that she fucked the Beatles over and so forth.

however, this song "Oh Yoko" by John Lennon almost makes up for all of that, in my mind.

it's just so damn cute....

In the middle of the night
In the middle of the night I call your name
Oh yoko, oh yoko, my love will turn you on

In the middle of the bath
In the middle of the bath I call your name
Oh yoko, oh yoko, my love will turn you on
My love will turn you on

In the middle of a shave
In the middle of a shave I call your name
Oh yoko, oh yoko, my love will turn you on

In the middle of a dream
In the middle of a dream I call your name
Oh yoko, oh yoko, my love will turn you on
My love will turn you on

In the middle of a cloud
In the middle of a cloud I call your name
Oh yoko, oh yoko, my love will turn you on
Oh yoko, oh yoko, oh yoko, oh yoko

I don't think Yoko fucked the Beatles over. I encounter a lot of people saying this, but usually there's no logic behind it. Usually someone they admire said they hate Yoko or something so they hate Yoko too. But if it weren't for her, John would not have felt so inspired and supported to produce what I think are the better albums such as Magical Mystery Tour, Abbey Road, the White Album, etc. Her ultra avant garde nature really appealed to John - after he once referred to "avant garde" as french for bullshit.  :smirk:

Not to John,  He got to share love. Something people who only look for eye candy rarely ever get. They just get a mean bitch who can't wait to dump them when someone even more stupid and shallow, but with more $$ comes along. :mushroom2:

You don't have to love her.  You're probably not her "type" anyway.

It doesn't matter. John was rich and famous enough to pull the hottest chick on the planet no matter what he looked like.

 That song makes me imagine the two of them living together, flying on LSD all the time, just saying each other's name, it's a nice thought. I don't blame Yoko for anything...who am I to judge another man's love?

Also, if you pick up any of her books of poetry and what not...she's quite good.

I like George and John and Ringo all the best. I can't stand Paul though. He pisses me off to no end. He's a douchebag!

I'm not just talking talent. Paul had plenty. But John and George kept growing spiritually/ emotionally in ways I can personally identify with.

I never did get much hit from Ringo.  But WTF, he was a Beatle.

I love John, but George stayed real until the end. He was one of the guys from the 60's who went spiritual and stayed spiritual until his death.

Yep! He's my favorite for just that reason. His spirituality grew IMO. and so did his music, after he left the Beatles.  I love to play and sing many of his songs. They are right on the mark. I miss him.

John had a lot more growth to work on in the sphere of his personal relationships.  He was very brave and took a very honest look at the fucked up childhood and life he was living, admitted it in public and let his shit be up for public display.  I totally admire that. I think he did it for others as much as for himself. He made a lot of mistakes, but without the courage to fail, you will never succeed.  I miss him also. But death  is the final life lesson for us all.
