1 Swami/Blow My Mind (Thunderbyrd 502) 1966


Originally hailing from San Jose, this outfit appear to have spent most of their time in San Francisco. Line-up 'A' recorded a song about a guru Swami which has become an acid punk classic due to its inclusion on Pebbles, Vol. 3 (LP). The band later evolved into William Penn and His Pals (line-up B) and issued a 45 for Thunderbyrd in 1966.

Gregg Rolie later went on to play keyboards for Santana and Journey!
