Right on, thanks for posting.

Yeah the RS-300 works with any passive 4 or 8 ohm speakers,
but it is designed for reference monitors with an extended frequency response.

I highly recommend the Tannoy Reveal6...

I'm goign to buy a new pc within 2 weeks (yay! reason + cubase!). Then I have to check how much money I have to spare and I will seriously consider buying it! So maybe you could not sell it yet, that would be cool. (any idea what the shipping would be to The Netherlands?). I can put the amp between my audigy2 soundcard and the speakers right?

I don't have monitors yet, but I'm going to buy them anyway probably this year. And I already looked into those Tannoy's and that's probably the best option for me considering the price/quality :cool:
too bad those sited only ship in the US, because these kind of things are usually more expensive here. :smirk:

The Behringer Truth series active monitors are very affordable and nice.

I'm in the market for a bass. Preferably with frets, however I may be willing to purchase a fretless.

Sorry Jim, but in my opinion ANYTHING made by Behringer sucks, especially the Truths.
A much better choice for the price would be the Wharfedale Diamonds.

really?  I had a pair of shitty studio headphones from behringer, but the monitors sound great.  I got the matched pair of active monitors for $300.

I guess the test of time will tell :shrug:

I know that the behringer company doesn't really design their own stuff, its all copies of other companies stuff.  I think I recall them getting into trouble over the truth series.

yes, you could plug any soundcard into the RS-300...
i'd be glad to hold it for you stefan, but the shipping would be $50 - $100 USD.
maybe you should consider a pair of active (built-in amp) Tannoy Reveals or Wharfedale Diamonds.

If you are looking for any (lighter) gear from the US I'd love to help...

Here's a box that will knock the socks off any software synth...

E-mu Xtreme Lead Turbo - Like New in box with original manual. Asking $320 +.

Note that the Turbo Lead is a more powerful version of the XL-1. The main differences are:

* 4 expansion rom slots instead of 2
* 6 analog audio outputs instead of 2
* s/pdif stereo digital output (XL-1 has no digital output)
* 32 midi channels instead of 16
* 128 voice polyphony instead of 64

Depending on your application, any of these added features could be crucial.
If you need this extra power, the Turbo Lead is well worth the premium it commands.

Features:

* 128 voice polyphony allows you to play back your most complex sequences
* Expandable to 128 MB of sounds, using four internal ROM slots
* 6 polyphonic (configurable as three pairs of stereo with programmable panning)
* Stereo digital S/PDIF (AES pro compatible)
* Ships with the 32 MB Hip Hop soundset, offering you 1536 presets (1024 ROM, 512 user)
* 32 MIDI channels give you extreme versatility in the studio
* New 32-bit processor provides you with lightning-fast MIDI response, even with huge sequences
* 4 real-time controls allow you to access any 12 parameters, giving you instant control over your sounds

the shipping is actually low for California to the Netherlands...

just in case anyone here is looking for the BEST synth for under $1000:

2004 Access Virus C Desktop

Equally comfortable in professional studios or beside a home computer, as well suited to clubs and concerts as it is to museum soundtracks, the Virus C Desktop Synth is heir to a legendary line of predecessors, and it inherits their incredible musical traditions with flying colors.

Speaking of colors, the stunning new red display will captivate you every time, and we haven't even gotten to the best parts of the instrument yet... A quintessentially vintage modern synthesizer, the stepped-up C offers an unfathomably vast array of sonic possibilities: 32 note polyphony, 4 oscillators, 2 filters, 3 LFOs, an expanded mod matrix with 6 source and 9 destination slots, 98 effects, and more! Not just a simulation of circuits, this instrument paints a stunning replica of the very detailed big picture which gives analog and acoustic instruments their "living" sound.

And it's as user-friendly as you want a synth to be. We know that no artist wants their tools to demand more attention than the music itself, so we rebuilt the Virus to bring inspiration to your fingertips. It unlocks creative freedom with improved access to the features you need, and makes music so freely you don't even need to read a manual. Let your imagination run wild with powerful undo/redo. If you're used to synths which always leave you wantying just a litte more you're in for a fantastic surprise: it's as if the Virus reads your musical DNA to replicate your wildest electronic dreams.

With an unprecedented degree of synth power behind it, and the evolution of Access music in front of it, the Virus will forever shine in your musical universe as brightly as it does in ours. Other virtual analog synths can't touch it- we proved that with the "a" and the "b"... What then, could be better than Virus but MORE VIRUS!

* 32 knobs
* 35 buttons
* 69 LEDs

* 32-voice polyphony with 16-part multitimbral capability
* 1024 programs (256 User / 768 ROM / 128 Multi)

* Undo/Redo/Random features to defeat ?oops? and "writer's block"
* 4 oscillators per voice. 3 main plus one sub [when all oscillators are in use, polyphony may decrease, but not by more than 6 voices.]
* Pure Tuning adaptive tuning (based on Hermode Tuning)
* Sawtooth, variable pulse, sine, triangle + 62 additional spectral waves
* FM [Frequency modulation] with or without external Input signals

* 2 filters selectable as lowpass, highpass, bandpass or bandreject
* 4 filter configurations (serial/ parallel) for up to 6 poles [36 dB]
* Alternative Mini Moog Style resonating Filter with 1,2,3 or 4 poles.

* 3 LFOs with 68 LFO shapes
* Loop or Envelope LFO modes with midi clock sync
* 2 ADSTR envelopes [T=Time]

* 16 independent arpeggiators with numerous arpeggiator patterns and real time parameter access/modulation including swing & note length.

98 simultaneous DSP effects:

o Reverb [w. pre-delay sync to MIDI-clock]
o 3-Band EQ per program/part [low/hi shelf + parametric mid]
o Retro Phaser [6-stage stereo phaser with 24 filter-poles
o Multiple independent distortion/saturation/Lo-fi FX per voice, including multiple distortion/shaper characteristics and variable gain.
o Chorus/Flanger with rate sync to midi tempo
o Simple or "Groove" Delay [preset polyrhythmic patterns]
o 32-band advanced vocoder
o Ring Modulator
o Analog Boost for true vintage tonal characteristics

* 2 Soft Knobs, individually assignable per program

* Internal master clock that drives all arpeggiators, LFOs and delay times; automatic sync to external midi clock

* Advanced Modulation Matrix with 6 source and 9 destination slots.

* Complete control via MIDI (CC/Polypressure/Sysex) with "Adaptive Control Smoothing" for ultra soft parameter changes and no zippering.

* MIDI Tempo sync capabilities for virtually every time-based parameter

* Full 24-bit processing; 24 bit D/A, 18 bit A/D

* 6 individual high quality outputs
* 2 audio inputs to process your signals through synth filters, envelopes, FX, vocoder, FM, ring modulator, and more

* Flexible "auxiliary" model of internal audio routing for processing/reprocessing internal/external signals through the synth engine and and effects of other voices

* Surround sound capabilities

* Free SoundDiver Virus editor/librarian for Windows? and MacOS?

* Easy operating system updates via MIDI

So being forced to choose between my Korg Karma and Virus C, I would rather keep the Virus, but no one seems to want the Karma so...

I'm asking $890 shipped in the CUSA for my MINT Virus C desktop in the original box with manual and powercord.
Kept covered in a smoke free studio, never gigged, only about 12 hours of very light use.
LIKE NEW face, all knobs are tight and all functions work perfectly. May she find a loving home.

sigh, ~SOLD~
