Any sort of filter on the sides of your terrarium will probably work to keep out contams since they are carried by dust and you really just want to filter the dust. I tried to use some filter paper but found that you really have to force air hard to get through it. I would use polyfill or a fine mesh screen and keep the space around dusted and clean.
Swing the groove 'round here, so I can reach it -a.d.

Are you sure it is 1250 microns? that is 1.25 millimeters, anything can get through that. If you are talking 250 microns, a lot of bacteria is smaller than that, but I'm sure its better than nothing. If you are talking 25 microns, you're golden, but air exchange is pretty much going to be diffusion limited unless its an inline filter to an air pump.

no there was thousand and 1250 micron filter paper ment for building ac filters. So I chose 1250 seemed smaller but is it small enough?
Also I tested for air cirulation by blowing aganist the paper and feeling for my breath. It seemed to work pretty good.

You approach the turnstiles and know that when
you get there you have to give the man two dollars
or he won't let you inside but when you get there
everything goes wrong.

1250 Microds DOES NOT EQUAL 1.25 millimeters...1250 Microns (If I remeber correctly) is 1250 x 10^-6 meters which is a little bit smaller.

either way if 1250 dosnt equal 1.25mm then 1000 wont equal 1mm anf still be smaller, its quite simple math here... 1250 is smaller then 1000 even if you multiply both by 10^-6

HERE IS THE FINAL ANSWER: Yes 1000 microns equals 1mm (1,000,000 microns equals 1 meter). So, therefore that is toooo god damn big for any contams except maybe gnats...lol. Vacuum cleaner bags filter to 10-25 microns perhaps smaller. HEPA filters remove particles 0.3 microns or larger. I don't know what the hell you are talking about filter paper that has 1250 micron pore throats. That would be like window screen or even larger mesh than that. Perhaps it is not filter PAPER but some other filter medium. Filter paper for filter presses ranges from 0.1 micron to about 80 micron max depending on the grade selected. The most common is in the 4-5 micron range.
MrB, you are grossly misinformed and have shown your ignorance.
