and Reading Rainbow, and Roots! Very cool guy. He was very open and kind. He would have been a great person to meet even if he wasn't famous.

He reminds me of Shroomery member number 104031, Geordi La Forge.

No, I met the real guy at a spiritual talk in Hollywood. He was such a great person. Such good vibes. You could really tell he was a very good natured and spiritual person.

That's cool. I read some website where employees at the Apple store were talking about the celebrities they'd met, and they said LeVar Burton was a dick. But I've always respected the guy and I hoped it wasn't true, so that's cool.

Yea he's nice on Star Trek, I always figured he'd be a decent dude. Glad to hear he really is.

I just *knew* that he was a good guy. I've seen every episode of TNG at least 3 times. Right now I'm on Deep Space 9, and I miss all my fav characters from the Enterprise, especially Geordi.

I also used to be such a sucker for Reading Rainbow.

A reverse 'oedipus complex' is called an 'electra complex'.

Unless you mean reversed as in a mother wanting her young son, and then it's called 'incestual pedophilia'.

shit man...I have a terrible "mother" comnplex. I always want to take care of people.

Extremes!

The reason why I love Picard is because he has the ability to demand discipline at the same time he demands excellance. He has the abilty to make even a rebel like myself want to serve him. Fuck, even Ensign Ro felt guilty about joining the Bajoran terrorist group because she knew Picard would disapprove!

Man, I just have to say that was so fucking cool! I haven't watched any Star Trek or Reading Rainbow for a long, long time, but I was a huge fan as a kid (however there are 1 or 2 episodes I have never seen). It's almost like meeting a childhood hero or something. What a nice surprise.
