If you drop out of college, be prepared to work at McDonald's. If you get a bachelor's degree in psychology, be prepared to work at McDonald's.
But seriously....I quit college after two years. I was actually doing very well (A's in most of my classes), but I hated it there. I left and I never looked back. I managed to become skilled in some things (mainly computers) and earn a living that way.
I wish I could go back in time and not go to college. I ended up wasting time and money.

So yeah...that was a confusing post. If I drop out, McDonalds, but you dropped out and are doing fine and wish you could go get your time back?
I hate this shit, god damnit. And you're right. Psychology is going to get me nowhere.

Hehehe. Having that piece of paper does look good....there is no doubt about that. But, if you have a skill that is marketable and you have some ambition, you can go anywhere in this country (even without a degree)

i didnt read half of the replys, but i hear ya man. i'm just a first year in college and i only got credit for a class last sem. cause a teacher was cool as he and gave me a B for only going for a month and a half(no midterms or finals). this semester i barely goto one or two classes a week. school definatly sucks and i'm probably going to drop out to, but i only got into community college after high school and i want to goto a real university at least for the experience. you def. need to find a way to get through it, you;d probably regret it if you dropped out. at least thats what everyones telling me

Are you planning on getting your PhD? Or at the very least your masters? There isn't much you can do with a bachelors in Psychology...

See I was planning on it, but when I think about how much I hate it here, the idea of getting a Masters of PhD just eats me alive.
I don't know what I'm doing at all =*(

It's more of a willingness to spend LOTS of time working, and do it again and again and again until you've learned it. Not much to be built for IMO, as long as you have a certain basic level of intelligence and are willing to put the effort in, most anyone can be successful in college. Unless you're going to a really brilliant school.
Fred, honestly -- how much time per day are you putting into your Calc 2 studies?

As someone said earlier Calc 2 is definitely the hardest math class I've had to take, calc 3 is easier, differential equations is easier, fluid mechanics is easier, etc. Calc 2 is just a bitch but once you get past that hump if you're actually interested in your major you'll find yourself more motivated to go to class, more motivated to do the homework, and more motivated to study because it will be for something you may actually find interesting. I always thought it was odd how you had to take fluff classes once you got to college, I thought K-12th was to give you the basic foundations and then college was for specialization, but it turns out that you have to take a bunch of General Education courses (or whatever your school calls them) before you get to stuff that really relates to your major, it sucks but otherwise the university wouldn't be able to siphon as much money out of you. I'd say give it at least one more shot, and try and manage your time better, if you set aside time for the class to study and whatnot the material becomes a lot easier, also if your teacher allows it I'd go buy a TI-89 calculator, it's a big help with the sometimes tedious algebra that you've already learned, and it can symbolic differentiation and integration, well worth the money IMO.
