Inland flights in the states

hey guys!

a friend of mine is going to the states this summer... she is arriving in chicago and gonna stay with her aunt for a week... after that she wants to make a round trip to new york, dc and then fly over to the west coast to california to see san diego, san francisco and then to vegas...
so i was wondering what is the cheapest online place to get tickets in the states? any tips or info's? i told her greyhound would prolly be cheaper, but she doesn't really have the time to sit in a bus for days in a row... so anything you can give is good...

www.priceline.com is the only good one I really know of.. I hate greyhound personally.. worst way to travel.. I'd take a train over greyhound anyday.

what motel can you recommend? it's gotta be cheap, but clean... and no shag motels if you know what i mean...

she's prolly gonna skip dc... trip as it looks now is gonna be chicago > ny by plane... and then ny > san francisco by plane... there she's gonna rent a car and travel california... san fran, san jos?, las vegas, san diego and end up in las vegas... and from there she's gonna fly back to germany...
