Aussie Blue Ringer photo??!
    #393922 - 09/13/01 11:21 PM (22 years, 6 months ago)

Walking the dog past the usual patches, and what do I find?? Well just these little tiny shits actually, because it hasnt rained in a while. Again, these have blue-rings of alkaloid oxidisation around the area were their veils are attached - is this common to many species of psilocybe when they are drying out? Or are they a blueringers from Australia?
Sorry about the poor colour quality/darkness

Sorry for confusion - they are actually Psilocybe Subaeruginosa - but the point was not that i was claiming them to the same as American blueringers, but that they an obvious blue ring around all of the specimens - is that a common trait among psilocybes??

Yeah, American blue-ringers have an annulis a little ways down the stem. The bluing in your mushrooms is probably bruising from the cap seperation from the stem. Many wood-loving Psilocybes will have an area of blue-bruising a ways down the stem. I guess you could consider it a blue ring. Although, traditionally, the annulis constitutes the term.
Stay cool1-Levi7.

Wow!! Nice collection.
There is absolutly nothing where I live for now, but I can still see mycelial webs on the underside of the log and through out the fern mulch.
The mycellium is definalty growing with the warm temps we are having, and it has that distinct Psilocybe smell.Yumm!!
Well Im hoping by some miricle that they will fruit again soon or I might take some of the mycelium hame to try and fruit using high tech measures.

And they do look like subs. bluemeanie, from what miniscule experience I've had!
