'sploit me
    #3937192 - 03/18/05 08:42 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

bored? i want someone to try and exploit me. just to test my security. send me a pm with an e-mail addy if you're up to it. i will send you an e-mail from yahoo mail without proxie and from my connect so you will know i'm not trying to get you to attack someone else and just to weed you out if you're a complete moron. 5 gold stars if you don't need the e-mail   just don't send anything malicious, don't delete any files, and generally play nice. i'm running windows fyi.

:stoned:

But are you directly connected to the internet? Otherwise first we have to 'sploit your router... unless you've DMZd yourself or forwarded everything AND turned off the router's built in firewall (assuming it has one).

back in the day of modems i remeber pinging people with 'atz' command in hex and tcp/ip would interpret it as a command and hangup ; )

TCP/IP is a protocol and doesn't interpret commands.  You are weeded out (in the most technical of senses)

network devices transmitting data via tcp/ip may interpret commands. Dont you remember being able to ping +++ATH0 to anyone's ip, and hang up their modems. wasnt too long ago...

no, don't remember it, but just googled it. i missed out. =( you'd think that the tcp/ip data would be encapsulated in the slip/ppp frames. but i guess modems don't 'support' slip/ppp, they just watch for at commands. lame.

goddamn, i can't get over how dumb of a design that is. if we were still using bbs systems and dialing into terminals then it would work great... i guess it was more of a flaw with slip. ppp has encryption/compression and would be immune to this, right?

No, PPP was highly vulnerable.

people used to drop whole irc channels by having scripts that would execute ping (whatever the params are) eachhostname.com

only select few card manufacturers were immune i think, and there were software patches for it.

well i accomplished what i wanted to do so i don't need people anymore, plus i setup all my security back so it's gonna be pretty hard to do much of anything. i dmz'd myself and turned off the better of my two firewalls and i was pretty secure last night. i'm now behind a good router, both firewalls, a honeypot, and a few other dirty tricks so it'd probably be in your best intrest not to try anything  i don't feel like taking all my shit down again just to find out what i already now know. i apperciate it though :stoned:

Aaww that's no fun
No worries man, but yeah I?m currently playing with IDS on two nics one inside the network and one outside with no protocols binded to it, then comparing the results. It's happy joy joy
Gimme a shout if you want to test it out again at some point.
