Ok here we go. About a month or 2 ago i attempted to colonize some equador spores I recieved from ralphster. Now i use myrical gro verm and had to get brown rice because i couldnt find flour. I didnt cook the brown rice and after 2 weeks with no results i went searching for a reason. I found i should have cooked the rice and packed the jars way too tight. so i left the jars in my attic and forgot about them. Today i went up out of boredom to see what has happened and to my supprise i find one jat about 25% colonized. So i braught it down to my room wrapped it in a few towels a placed a heating pad around it. Now what im wondering is should i expect the other 5 jars to colonize? there is no signs at all on them. also for one single cake what type of terrerium should i use? I was thinking the poor mans because i dont realy have money to spend now at all. But i dont see how i keep the humidity up with that thing! So I turn to the experts, what do you say i should do? Thank you SoulJah

The poor mans terrarium works OK, as long as you're consistent with fannings. Those other jars may kick in. Attic temperatures can get over 100 degrees, and that's usually dry heat, not good. You can substitute ground up styrofoam for perlite.

try injecting a few ccs of sterile water in the jars too. You may be able to salvage those other jars yet!

Also, get some real verm I.e., something without chemical fertilizers.

yeah i agree with puscle. miracle grow crap all has chems in it and from my experience slow colonization, if not stop it altogether. for one cake heres what i would suggest. find a big tupperware container; at least a gallon or so. throw some perlite and a little bit less water in the bottom of it, set down your jar lid or something and place the cake on it. cover and store at 73 degrees, fan when possible. depending on the size of your container try to do it daily or more. hope it all works out for you.
-------------------- Holy shit people; COMMON SENSE! we were all born with it where did it go? maybe theres a tek out there to explain how to use it! BUCKETS BRIGADE left hand man!!!
