There was a punk rock version done by some band that was kinda cool. I think it was on the Cinema Beer nuts commercial!

I like the Marilyn Manson version and the Soft Cell version. Both are pretty good.

Shades Apart did a punk cover of the song in 1995, as have Social Distortion.

my vote for favorite cover of "Tainted Love" is a tie between Skinny Puppy and Coil.
