first time posting in the pub, not sure if this really belongs here.
afoaf is planning on making the trip to bonaroo this year for the first time and wants to know how tight security is there. For instance, are there going to be dogs when u enter the camping grounds, concert areas, etc. Anyone with some roo expereince please share

there is security at bonnaroo...no dogs are at the gates. However, random searches are made ( i was one of them last year). if u get caught with a pipe chacnes are theyll let you go. however possesion of marijuna or other illegal substances will and u with a court citation, The jails in manchester couldnt handle that many people flooding their jails so they just hand out citations, so at least u can still see the show..overall, i wouldnt sweat it, its a pretty lax experience...you can get away with alot..hopefuly things havent changed since the deaths last year....see ya there

outside of the concert stages there are security checkpoints u have to go through before entering the show area around centeroo...your best bet is to check the lines out before you pick one. theres always one guy whos barely searching people....choose his line....good luck

have your shit hidden well when you first arrive, and don't make a big scene about it once you're in the campgrounds. you don't have to look over your shoulder every time you hit the bong, nobody cares. you're free to do pretty much whatever you want as long as you don't act like a dumbfuck. the "security" at the front gate and the gate to centeroo are just people like us who volunteer to work there, and then there are mounted security in the campgrounds, but they are only looking to keep people safe, stop fights, etc..they look the other way when it comes to drugs. the security are very nice people, i had no problems with them at all..i remember tripping out on one of the days and talking to one of the mounties. they let me pet the horse, it was great.

that being said...on the last day last year...I saw a grip of people get
chased down, cuffed and driven off on four wheelers.
I happened at least 3 times to 5 different dudes.
I don't know wtf that was all about, but, damn.

Keep your shit stashed well (like in your trunk) when you get to the gates. Don't speed on the way there. They can't very well search every single vehicle going in, but if you give them a good enough reason....
The security people going into the performance area really vary. Sometimes they're cool cats, other times it's bitchy southern black women who would just love to fuck you over. Ya just gotta find the right line!

They really just pop their heads in the car to look for tanks of nitrous mainly. Don't worry about them looking through you stuff, but don't take my word on that. Also, when going into centeroo don't have shit you can't hide half-way decently. Like don't have a big bubbler in your pocket or 3 oz.'s of shrooms. Even if they do find something though they will probably just take it and let you walk by, you may even get a smile and your pipe handed back.

yeah, for some reason NAS is the only thing they really care about. I have a picture of one of the horseback mountees examining my bag of weed. She said nice stuff and gave it back.
SECRET!!!!: everyone tries to map out a way to cut ahead in line, last year we thought we found a great way, but they had changed the entrance plans once again. As we get settled in the line, my friend that does lights for Galactic, told me about the artist entrance. They were a little pissed off when we made it through there, but they let us in anyway, and we skipped the lines! It is all back roads, and the path is marked ever so slightly. Last year it was just a very small peice of paper on a tree with an arrow on it.

Why the fuck would you put it in peanut butter? We made it through with 3 cases of beer (3 guys under legal drinking age), 2 oz's of mids and a coupla pipes. Just stash it so it's not easily found or smelt. Don't put it in peanut butter, that's just fucking dumb.

Also putting it into a jar of penut butter shampoo ect actually meets two of your own said critiria that its isn't easily found or smelt. A jar of peanut butter in the hands of a camper isn't out of the ordinary and it also helps to kill the smell since the butter is so thick.

just because you're putting it in a PB jar doesnt mean you're just shoving it into a big mass of PB....
scrape middle of the jar clean and double bag your shit.... clean and safe
My buddy and I got in real quick. We took the greyhound (3 day trip from seattle to tenn) and just walked to the gates. We didnt have to wait for nobody.... just walked past the line and got one of the first campsites in the first area they started putting people in.
