i dont like going under the knife

Got a wisdom tooth extraction tommorow at 11am, all 4 of em.

Doc gave me 10mg of valium to take an hour before i come in, which is bomb of him, but i could use some valium for last night and tonight, cuz im freakin out :P

I know the surgery is nothin to be worried about, but im worried anyway, just anxious i guess, no worries in my head at all.

bah

well at least i get 10mg of valium

its not bad at all imo... i had 4 impacted ones removed at the same time. it hurt more to have them in then whatever the surgery was.. plus you get some mad pills:cool:

Weird, I'm getting mine out soon and I'm scared shitless. Got 4 extracted before, only 1 was frozen, spent hours freezing my mouth until the fucking dental assistant started yanking them out. Damn near punched her in the face. :sad:

Yeah, don't sweat it. I had all 4 done in one afternoon. It was no big deal. A little swelling and some careful eating while you heal is all. In fact, getting them pulled was the easiest part of it all.

I had 2 root canals/3 crowns done this last spring. Those were far worse.

i made the mistake of taking all the pills they gave me in the first two days... fun two days, but you really should space them out, because the soreness lasts a bit longer. :lol: ouch.

but i'm sure it'll go fine... if you smoke cigarettes, though, i'd highly recommend quitting before-hand, or getting the patch - because the pressure differences that smoking causes in your mouth really aggravate the sutures and cause a lot more pain than necessary.

yes i do smoke, a pack a day :P

But if its going to put me in shitloads of pain i can live without them, or with very few :P

Maybe i could use this as a springboard for quitting..?

i was scared to (i got 4 out in one sitting), but they say "relax" and then you wake up and its done, but my dumbass dentist gave me tylenol 3's (a lot of them tho), so i just ate like 4 at a time...i liked it, my mom waited on me hand and foot, so that was sweet soup and jello is good in my book!  my dad was tellin me that he got his pulled then went to a grateful dead concert the same day...what a badass (my dad could kick your dad's ass! :cool:)

As a victim of facial injuries, I can attest that five root canals is FAR worse than 4 wisdom teeth removed. I was out like a light during the wisdom teeth operation, whereas I had only novacaine to help me deal with several long and tourtuous root canal operations. Wisdom teeth removal can be ranked as awesome compared to root canals.

well i just got back

i never actually went to sleep, i just got really sleepy, but was somewhat aware of what was going on around me.  Felt a tiny bit of pain, but all in all really easy.

Now I'm just fighting gagging on my own tongue cuz my mouth is no numb.

But i got a scrip for vicodin, so I'm happy :smile:

Seems like everyone gets vicoden. My doc was a pimp and gave me like twenty 5mg percosets.

I went under to get 4 extracted.  IV, heart monitor, some super benzo and some super opiate.  1 minutes of pure heaven before I woke up many many hours later. :smile:

Then I had a script for percs which I never ended up using back then.

I can't have any more percocets... Going under the knife, they gave me many many percocets as well as injected morphine. Heroin is a no no for me, because damn... Well, you know. :/

Ummm...Do you get general anesthesia to remove wisdom teeth?

I removed all 4 of them in one sitting just with novocaine.No pain during the operation,i just closed my eyes because i did not like seeing my dentist working and pulling teeth out.To of them were stuck under the front ones so in had to be drilled and cut in half...

No opioids were give after surgery,i just took some Mesulid (nothing "under the counter" just a simple analgesic).I was in some pain but i guess its better that being given access to opioids. If not habit forming they can put you into..."Ripper mentality" (if one is prone to abuse that is)

Wisdom tooth Sufferers beware!

Man, I only started thinking about how truly FUCKED UP it is that they did this recently, but...

Probably thinking they were "helping me out" or something, when they gave me my injected morphine, they let me sit on it for a good while. I looked at my girlfriend and said, "I've never been this high" with my father right there before he ever knew I did *anything*... Seriously, they screwed me up, 'cause DAMN was that good. Too good. :/
