Christmas???

I am forced to celebrate christmas because of my girlfriend....
Right now I am putting lights on the tree....
Any one else in this kind of situation?? It sucks...

i liek having them up....but damned if i liek being the one to do it. i got stuck going to my parents houses to do tehm as well. nothing egg nog and weed cant solve.

It's so fucking stressful. I don't mind blowing a shitload of money on my loved ones, it's just picking out good presents that really racks my brains. I hate this bullshit. Bah humbug.

Since the bible gives us no actual date of the birth of Christ it is absolutely absurd to believe that this would be a thing that we should know, (considering the whole knowlege we have of Christ is based on the bible). Obvously there IS a reason for Dec. 25 as a date to celibrate his birth other than the truth. Seeing what Christmas has become is a sure indication as to this 'reason'. A date is chosen in order to honor the 'savior of the world' yet now this savior takes a back seat to Santa Claus and Macy's. Kinda of funny huh?

It is funny, especially since most of the rituals and traditions are pagan...I don't really care about all that though, I enjoy Christmas. Good food, no school, family is together, lights are fun to get stoned and look at...good memories all around.

I ingested mushrooms over and over and over and over and over again for years a few years back and each time that I tripped I was given a taste of what I felt was some cosmic truth to our reality. I now believe that is all I ever received, a taste. But the point being I never indulged simply to change my reality into something beyond understanding, but just the opposite, to change my reality into something I could understand. All I received was a taste. Eventually I found that the trip may have offered a portal into some kind of cosmic understanding, a glimpse per se, but that was the extent of it and that hasn't changed my desire to understand the truth. Acceptance isn't a choice to me without verification. This I try to relate to everything in life. It would be easier and much less painful to do everything that I liked without regard to consequence yet this end only leads to self destruction instead of actual fullfilment.

Im not a christian but still celebrate christmas, for me its not a religious holiday, its just a tradition ive done since a kid. The thing i hate most is geting a tree,putting the tree up, and decorating it...oh how i hate the tree. but snows always fun and everyones usually in a good mood.

unfortunatly(maybe?) we have an artificial tree this year... we inherited the tree from her father. It is only 7 feet tall, but I put enough lights on it to land an airplane :smile:

Christmas is nice. I like the holiday season, all the way from Thanksgiving through New Years. Its not a religious holiday to me (I don't believe in God). It just a nice time of year to spend with friends/family and have some fun. And its a good excuse to have lots of parties! :grin:

As far as Christmas becoming too commercial, I say fuck it! I like the gift giving and the lights and the decorations and all that shit.

I'm not religious either... while I do enjoy seeing my family, her family is just nuts. They are all crazy. It makes Christmas that much more stressful. I would rather not celebrate Christmas and just have a huge family barbecue in July :smile:

amen to that. usually i do a bbg on christmas eve. i LOVE steak and egg nog, even if im the only one having it.

we havnt got one yet. usually go for the classic douglas fir. the farm here has a bunch of cool trees, hard to choose.
