Webhosting/Domainnames - H E L P
    #3372980 -

I'm trying to transfer my domain called *Edit by Seuss* to a new host.
But my current host claims the following:

"After further investigation, we are sorry to inform you that your domain can't be transfered because your domain is a premium mail domain."

But it's registered on my name so I'm sure I have the right to transfer.
Does anyone know anything about how these things work. And if I'm right to asume that when it is registered on my name, I also have the right to transfer it out?

Edit: I removed the domain name provided because people can look up personal information about the owner of the domain... things like 06******72. -Seuss

Welcome to my hell. If the domain is in your name, then you absolutely have the right to transfer it to any registrar that you wish. The problem is that there is no oversight, no law, and nobody to complain to when your current registrar doesn't give up the domain. The only way that I have gotten around this is with very nasty legal letters from my lawyer, and even then it took a while. If you get in good with your new registrar, they can usually make things happen as well...

If anybody else knows of a way to deal with this type of problem, other than paying a laywer to get nasty, please let us know.

Lemme guess, you are with network solutions... they are the worst at this kind of crap...

Edit: Yup, I just checked... you are with network solutions. Figures. Somebody needs to start a class action lawsuit against those pricks. My favorite network solutions screw example... go to netsol.com and lookup a domain that you would like to buy... it shows that it is available... wait a few minutes, then look it up again... it shows that it is now owned by network solutions, but they will sell it to you if you like.

Thank you, but the name was no problem. Most people here know my sites, so if they had enough knowledge to check out who I am. They would have done it already. The phonenumber doesn't work anymore btw.

But thank you for editing.  :smirk:

Thank you, but I already have a good host available in Holland.
Which is better for me since I am located there.  :smirk:
