What is the go with smoking banana shells (or leaves maybe).
According to some people it is meant to get you high or something. It sounds to me like lots of bullshit, but I have heard it being mentioned too many times to just let it go unanswered. Does anyone know anything about this and if it is true that it gets you high, what does it actually do and which part of the banana do you actually smoke.

They say if you bake banana skins in an oven and then scrape off the black shit that forms, then its gets you high when smoked. I think the giveaway was when they called the substance "Bananadine"

I think the interesting part is the fact that banana peels are very high in seritonin, as Im sure most of you know is extremely close to psilocybin, DMT and the other psychedelic tryptamines. I wonder if thats a reason for the creation of the "?mellow yellow" myth? Well I doubt it since its never brought up.

Anyways, perhaps there could be some use for banana peels as substrate for mycophiles wanting higher psilocybin production (I dunno, Ive never grown them myself)

My friend said it's just supposed to be the equivalent of smoking 15 smokes.. i think it just makes you light headed. I also heard in the anarchist cookbook that you can smoke peanut skins and get high and also smoke dried toad skins.

If you smoke enough of anything it will make you lightheaded... why not just hold your breath though, prolly better for your lungs... peanut shells does not work, I took bonghits of peanut shells with some classmates in 7th grade just for the hulluvit, it was comletely idiotic and a waste of time/cells. Smoking dried toadskins (from the right toads of course) would probably work, as they secrete 5-MeO-DMT, but why not just order the shit instead of skinning a toad?

I dunno, there was this guy I knew my freshman year of college that swore he smoked dried banana peels and it worked. Although he's also the same guy that said if you dried toothpaste and smoked it you'd get high too.

So if someone out there wants to try lacing some of their banana peel with dried toothpaste write up a trip report; I'm sure we'd all love to hear how it works out. ;)

the wierd thing is that bananas & plantains (& avacadoes, too) have pretty high levels of catecholamine & tryptamine chemicals (like epinephrine & serotonin...) which is prolly where the "get you high" rumors got started...
