Hmm I had this too and it spooked me yesterday when I noticed it. Good to know (I guess) I'm not the only one. Maybe someone hotlinked or used an image in a thread or something?

I don't have the log anymore due to rebooting but it occured on August 31 at around 9 PM. The IP was one in the range listed in peerguardian's blocklist 149.101.0.0 to 149.101.255.255

can you post the complete log with all the info (namely port & protocol)? It'll be in your pwconns.log in the C:\Program Files\dudeZ\protowall - just cut and paste it.

2004/08/31 15:58:38 [<-] BLOCKED [!] - Destination is Omniture[BargainBuddy] (216.52.17.116) [Protocol: TCP - src: 9644 / dst: 80]

port 80 on tcp man. that's nothing - somebody probably posted some image from one of many, many sites that fall under that range.

no need to worry. Just port 80.

paranoid motherfuckers.

try to notice exactly when that IP is blocked, so we can see who's posting that image - maybe it's an avatar.

as for the iana address, thats hard to tell what it is as iana is often cannot be traced. whatever it is, protowall has blocked it. now, if you're on a network, then might actually need the iana ranges to not be blocked. Read more: This is IANA

as for the atrivotech block, well that's just normal blocking - if you notice while surfing, protowall will block all kinds of odd IP addresses. Because it is on port 80/http, I wouldnt worry - probably some weirdo site that installs spyware. where you looking at porn or looking for cracks & keygens? regardless, it was blocked.

you should also consider a software firewall - I recommend sygate pro or outpost pro. I also recommend using a hardware router if you have broadband connection. also do the usual spyware sweeps using ad-aware 6.0, spybot, CWShredder - you should definitely try out CWShredder because of the atrivotech block: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

as far as the US Dept. of Justice tracking you, it's a false alarm - I wouldnt worry about it.
