I don't really forage for libs anymore but I had to take a picture of this one I found on a walk today. Probably the largest one I've ever seen.

Cortinarius everinus? Great shot!

Up in New England 2 years ago I saw so many of these growing in really beautiful mossy woods, they're so stunning. Are you spending time up at higher elevation?  I feel like that's where I kept seeing them.

Here's a couple of Gymnopilus luteus, a week apart.  I've been checking in on this small, heavily decomposed beech trunk log that's a 2 mile hike into the woods for the past 4 years, and it always pops out just a few small fruits.  This log is damned near falling apart. I still haven't found any other Gyms near it, lol... Not even in the obvious other broken parts of the same tree trunk.  I wonder if, and how heavily Armillaria compete with other fall saprotrophs.  I feel like when the Armillaria came out in large numbers on my thru hike, the Psilocybe caerulipes completely dried up.  Probably coincidence, though.
