Hey, hows everyone's hunting going then?
Seems a bit of an early one, but post heatwave + only a bit of rain the mushrooms seem to be doing pretty well considering.

Hey guys I've returned after 7 years to post my first ever lib finds and in Cornwall of all places this early in the season, when I was younger I made some very scary posts about eating mushrooms I thought where liberty caps so just in case anyone was worried it seems I have finally developed a survival instinct and train my eyes

Mid Cornwall from yesterday and the day before.

Decided to make a little video of me hunting for libs while trippin on libs in Cornwall it's kinda bad quality filmed on my phone and edited on my laptop (still took 2 days) hope someone finds it cool.

Was originally on YouTube but they took it down, have appealed on educational and documentation grounds

Hey I'm claiming one these as the biggest found so far this year in Cornwall, maybe UK.

Would love to be proven wrong will update with ruler while fresh for dimensions and dry weight soon:

That's a pretty decent sized one. I myself found one bigger than half the size of my palm a couple of years ago. Sadly I no longer have a picture of it though - but it was a beast!

I'm going hiking with a friend this thursday, I quit using psychs myself however my friend is going to be on a low dose of libs, so we're going picking before our hike. Maybe I'll take some pics and chuck them here sometime later this week.

Are these libs? Been drying a couple days, about to throw them away as my friend is sure they aren't. Any help appreciated.

They are all (or nearly all, there could be some outliers) libs but they look pretty rotten. What type of environment did you leave them to dry in? They should be in a dark, dry cupboard like a wardrobe sitting on newspaper. Personally I always used lined paper and it worked perfectly (I don't know if it differs in composition to printer paper, but I can only say what worked for me).

I personally would not eat them, they look a bit far gone. They shouldn't be black but rather a golden brown.

If they're not rotten libs they could be panaeolus of some kind but the ones with nipples look too lib-like to me. Either way, just toss 'em.

Thanks for your response, I left them on some paper towel with a fan blowing nearby. I won't risk it!

That sounds perfectly fine to me. Maybe they were already a bit rotten when you put them down to dry .
