when i lived in philly id get the south philly italian from cosmis deli.

came with sliced prosciutto, salami, hot capricola and id get extra sharp provolone.

This actually came from a local brewery but I suspect they put it on chopped and raw. If I was making it at home I would chop it up and fry it then put it on the pizza before it went in the oven.

We've been hanging out at this brewery since we moved into this new house and we've tried to pitch our bacon and ham to them cause they make some top notch bar food. I know it would be even better with out pork and they could hit the local angle which is pretty popular out here.

I'm eager to make some pizzas at home, I've just been hella lazy about cooking since the last round.

Gotcha. Yeah I made 30lbs of bacon in the spring but I’ve never tried it on pizza. Was never sure if I should fry it first.

Keep pushing to get your stuff in the door there. At some point they’ll cave.

i lightly fry the bacon for pizza. use raw white or red onion and blast that pizza hot.

back in the 90s this place in DC did a bacon, onion, swiss cheese pizza :drooling:

also..

decided to make a pizza with my new weber pizza stone for the grill that mushwife got me for my bday :awesome:

i got a 'beer' dough from the local grocery store :thumbup:


i stretched out the dough and made an edge for the crust.
 

i made an amazing sauce with sun sugar cherry tomatoes garlic and onions and lots of basil.


lubed up that pie with evoo, sauce and added some shredded parm and romano.


we got satueed mushrooms and whole roasted garlic cloves


lets finish with thin white onion and grilled artichoke


i dropped it face down onto the blistering hot pizza stone. i screamed in terror and tried to fix it but most of it was just a molten pile of unevenly cooked dough and burnt toppings:lol:

but the parts that survived were awesome. i really liked the artichoke and mushroom combo.

i will make this again.. this time with a peel so i dont fuck it all up :rockon:
