Theres a really nice woodland near there too, you can see it in the righthand background on pic 1.
And yeah 100%- I find many assorted shrooms at that spot!

Yeah I'm very lucky to live near so many nice spots- although like your dumped tyre pic recently (appreciating the shots youve shared too!), they aren't without a lot of trash needing removed/ displays of human ignorance etc. The river is pretty polluted as well. Still, I see a lot of my favourite bird, heron, out there and don't mean to belittle the beauty of the area... Back to what you actually asked...
:botgirl:

In recent times I spotted collybia/lepista sordida around there, my favourite find.

Pics don't do the colour justice of course.
Also some enoki

Back in peak mushroom season I'd toked some DMT out at a bridge there and to my delight, on walking around- all the mushroom specimens thrummed with shine on their edges like quest items!
Fuckin awesome.

^back then... I mean, I'm looking forward to summer but the above vibe is my jam.

Yeah,  it's sad what humans are doing to our sacred earth

Wow man! Love the mushrooms shots   And those last two pics look so pristine! Is that a swan that I see in the water,  in the far back? That photo is just amazing!

Keep em coming!!!

Yeah it's a fucking bummer.
On the other hand, I do notice people quietly doing their bit, which is important to acknowledge.
:hellyeah:
Yeah that'll be a swan back there!

Here are todays shots.

England mate

pic tax:

What are your main spots at this time of year, largely fishing oriented or you have any special places you particularly feel at home where you just go?

Got a pond on my property, ice is starting to get sick, can still walk on it, around a foot thick but the edges are breaking away. Pics from last night I ate some ochras and hung out on my pond.

When we moved in there was large mouths, rock bass and perch. The perch are all gone, but I've stocked some more large mouths and some small mouths. My dream is to breed some mean mouth bass which are a hybrid large and small mouth. I've caught one once in a small pot hole lake in the bush full of both species. I want to play fish got and make some ha ha!!

Now that sounds down right awesome! How do you plan on getting them to reproduce?

I'm thinking that you would have to put a ton of large-mouth bass in there and just a few female only small-mouths. Then the females would have no choice but to spawn with the male large-mouths.

On a side note,  I once stocked a virgin pond with a few hundred long ear sunfish and green sunfish,  but only a few bluegill. Well after a couple, of years,  I had huge hybrid sunfish in there,  with the characteristics of all the parents. They had the huge mouth like a green sunfish,  the colors of the long ear sun fish and the bigger size of the bluegill. I kid you not, these fish got huge and fought like bass! They also reproduce too. All the long ears eventually died out and I never caught another green sunfish either. All you caught were massive bluegill and hybrids. I ended up moving away though,  so I'll never get to go back to it,  sadly.

I'm trying this with another pond and so far I've put a whole lot of greens and long ears in it to spawn with the bluegill that are already in it. Not sure if it will work with this pond though,  because I don't know whats all else is actually in it, haha!

Aww man! I bet you often wonder what is happening in your old pond! That is super cool man, creating hybrid fish is next level ha ha!

I've often debated buying a truck load of crappie for my pond, it's not expensive they come and dump a ton in. I'm afraid it would disrupt the entire balance of the pond though. I have read crappie will take over pretty fast.

Man,  I have ponds stocked all over North America, hahah!

it would be nice to go back and see what happened to them all,  but oh well.

I got a new one that I'm currently stocking,  but I'm not going to start fishing it until this fall. All I do is bring in bucket loads of various fish for it. I want to get some river fish for it like white,  yellow and striped bass,  but they probably wouldn't survive the trip. it's gotten way too hot here too fast!

Watch out for those crappies,  there is a lot involved when stocking those. I have been throwing a few big ones here and there in this new pond,  but I don't want to get too many or it could throw the balance off drastically.

For instance,  this one pond that I have been fishing,  used to be full of big bass and bluegill,  well eventually some crappie got in there and people caught out all the big bass and bluegill.  Now,  it's nothing but tiny bass and tons of  tiny,  skinny,  stunted,  crappies with big old eyes. It's about all you can hook in there now. I have been clearing them out,  but I think the damage has already been done. It needs more bass,  but because too many people fish it,  I'm not throwing anything in there at all.

All this fish talk makes me want to go see what's biting today! I think I might get the gear and head out,  as it's going to be just lovely today  partly cloudy and a high of 81  :sunny:

Catch ya back soon!

Ya man I've heard similar about crappie completely fucking a pond up.

For even cheaper you can buy a truck load of speckled trout, they don't reproduce so would be purely for fresh fish available to catch whenever. Could catch them through the ice too. Just not sure if they would disrupt the bass population or not.

You have moved around a bit and stocked a bunch of ponds eh?? That's awesome man post more about it when you have free time, interesting to hear!

Yeah they can,  if not managed correctly.

Trout would work for you,  but they would only survive the winter here stocked in ponds. It gets way too hot for them to survive. I caught a rainbow the other day at the park and I was shocked that they are still alive. Especially, as hot as it's been. I don't give the remaining ones much more time before they expire.

On the other hand,  bass love to eat trout and they would probably decimate your stocked trout. Unless the trout were really big,  as so the bass couldn't eat them.

I stock ponds wherever I go. I'm like the Johnny Appleseed of fish, hahah!

I went to the creek today and I got a bucket full of long ears,  greens,  and some minnows to stock in this pond that I've been overloading with fish. I even caught two nice mud cats to throw in there as well. It needs more red ears though,  but man,  I'm having a hard time catching enough of those as of late.

I plan to get it like fishing the river,  you never know what you'll catch! I don't discriminate on any fish that I put in there either. Some of the fish that I stock are considered "trash" too. Especially the green sunfish.
