Re: Charlie Kirk shot and killed... [Re: lowbrow] * 1

I’m not out to stir the shit, not purposefully. But I am playing a game. The game is to get you guys on the extreme ends of the political spectrum to start seeing each other as humans which you have a lot in common with.

I’ve been sucked in by both ends of this political nonsense at different times over the last, I dunno, at least 15 years, and I can tell you that I was so wrong about most things no matter which end of the spectrum I was aiming (and I was aiming at these ends without intending to, but being guided and influenced by media and big personalities).

My game is to get you to realise you are being sucked into the same mess as I was.

Find the common ground.

I'd say right in the middle

Peace comes in baby steps. If a bunch of people make an effort to try to find some common ground, and they see eye to eye on something, then that good will will spread.

If nobody, or a very small minority of people, finds common ground with “the other side”, then all hope is pretty much lost.

People need to come together. That’s what this life is about.

Yes, murder is wrong. This guy shouldn’t have been shot for talking. But also, you have to see why what he was saying might drive division more and more. These types of politicians love to drive division unless we keep them in check. The way to keep them in check is to find the common ground with people you disagree with.

If you allow them to drive a stake between two sides, and nobody is willing to be generous enough to find a common ground, then you’re all fucked.

This goes for everybody. Not just the US.

I think he was kept in check

The last guy to try to find common ground has been murdered in front of 3000 people.

So are you saying you’re scared that you will be murdered if you take my advice?

I don’t think you honestly believe that.

I’m asking you to question your belief that Charlie was definitely trying to find the common ground, or whether he was playing the same game as a lot of them and trying to drive a stake between people for his own gain of power and popularity.

Think about it.

Stephen Crowder is an interesting phenomenon as well. It seems he was taking advantage of young people who didn’t know much about the world in order to post videos of “gotcha” moments to stir up outrage and bolster his own popularity, power, and wealth.

If he were actually interested in having thoughtful, honest and open discussions then he wouldn’t have been sitting outside campuses trying to bait people into looking like fools for his own gain.

He was doing the same thing as charlie kirk, he was having a dialog. But that’s probably not gonna happen anymore.

Look as far as common ground. I mean just to be fair. I guarantee you Charlie Kirk doesn't give a fuck about the second amendment anymore.

Shouldn't his true fans follow suit?

This is all a product of the state of our society, worldwide.

It pays to bait people into looking like fools on YouTube because it gets clicks. And therefore it pays to be a divisive mechanism. All powered and driven by large social media platforms and AI.

No one wins here. Not even the people who are extracting unheard of amounts of money from it.

Don’t let violence scare you off from trying to find the common ground. That only leads to tyranny.

It wasn’t open and honest dialogue though. That’s the key here. It’s all a big show for clicks, attention and money. That’s how it works.

The true honest and open dialogues are had with our friends, family and neighbours, near and far, who we disagree with about things. Given that both parties want to actually engage in honest and open discussions.

No one is perfect, we all fall for the gotcha moments sometimes and we all try to get people into gotcha moments at times as well. It’s not a game which has winners and losers. Only we all win as a whole, or we all lose as a whole.

I don't know how people are able to justify the celebration of Charlie Kirk's assissination. It truly boggles my mind.

I know I am not American, but believe it or not, what happens in America has an affect on pretty much the whole world.

I don't think he deserved to be gunned down like that and I think anyone celebrating that is really far gone.

The American democratic party, to me, used to be a lot different. I would have never expected these type of reactions a few years ago.

I strongly believe that any reasonable non-partial person would be able to see that Charlie Kirk was not the existential threat that he is painted as by some.

The celebration of his death sends a message, in my opinion, to all people who associate with left wing politics worldwide that you are justified in killing someone not based on actual physical threats, but words alone.

He, Charlie Kirk, as an individual was not an existential threat, no. But what the other side here is pointing out is that he was part of a mechanism of gaining power through popularity, without the best interests of the people at heart. A mechanism which isn’t necessarily the tactic of one side or another, but it has infiltrated us all.

He may have been doing it knowingly, or he may have been doing it unknowingly, but they’re saying that he was feeding into the division, and thus provoked an extreme reaction from groups which opposed his views. Unfortunately, he played into his own undoing, knowingly or not.

It’s still a tragedy. There are still people grieving and immensely hurt by it. There was a life taken in front of thousands of people. It’s fucked up. It is wrong.

But there is always a common ground if you care to look for it, and when people are so divided, that is when it is most needed.

Lol. Silly idiot, tricks are for... nvm, you're just a clueless moron. Neoliberalism refers to an ideology that is and can only be considered exclusively conservative. It dates back to at least the 1980s but is largely discussed in a post 9/11 context today. The policies they claim to favor include limited government intervention in the economy, a free market economy and expanding this free market economy "logic" to all aspects of society such as government and......... oh wait, nothing else bc it's complete idiotic bullshit to even consider being valid. They only limit government when it benefits them, they only want a free market when it benefits them and until at least one of them stops giving a shit about their own family (or at least pretending they do) then it will be impossible to move this selfish, garbage human ideology past imaginary fantasies of how economies actually function.

**Hint: It's just as possible as anyone claiming they love their wife while also demanding she be subservient to them. Or impossible for you braindead morons who are confused.

Hard to believe anyone that has actually done mushrooms and is on a site about doing them could ever even imagine backing Charlie Kirk or arguing that he should be alive. I don't think he should have been killed but I'm not going to waste an ounce of my own energy arguing against anyone that does. He was a piece of shit who was enthusiastically speading his harmful, toxic ideas to those who were younger and/or dumber. No question about it. And he did it for clicks and money. The lowest of the low in our society. The fact that he had a wife and children speaks to his lack of concern for them, not any fantasy of him being a "loving family man" If he would have just openly admitted he believed his wife should be on a literal leash and have no decision making abilities of her own then at least he would just be a dead piece of shit instead of a dead coward piece of shit.

I was not a fan of his necessarrily nor did I think he was some kind of extremist.

But I have watched numerous videos of his debates over the past few years.

I did not perceive him as being devisive.

He held on to his Christian beliefs and defended his positions in debate form with an open mic available to anyone who opposed him.

I am agnostic. I don't believe religion should be mixed with politics.

Still, his debates and the way he carried them out seemed genuine enough and not divisive as many are portraying it.

I have yet to find actual fully in context videos where he is outright spewing hate towards another individual.

you should probably ease up on trying to be so sanctimonious, my dude.

At the college campuses he went to, anyone in the audience (students or faculty) could step up to the mic and freely challenge him on any issue they wished.  They could be as prepared as they could possibly be, and go at it with him toe to toe for 15 minutes.  How is this 'baiting'?

Also, it's kinda funny how there's seemingly no one on the left that does this kind of thing, to attempt to facilitate that 'common ground' :confused2:

Honest and open dialogue, meaning to engage with people you disagree with in an honest and open way, and to find the common ground for the benefit of all people.

For example, stating that mass shooting casualties is a price that he is willing to pay for being able to own guns is a statement. An extremely provocative statement.

Someone who is out for honest and open dialogue and understanding between people isn’t going to come out and say “I’m willing to see x number of children murdered every year in order for us to be able to own guns”.

This is just an example. If you’re being honest with yourself then it should give you a hint as to how the other side might feel.
