Off the top of my head, it feels like a combination of dystopian nutrition, over medication, and over connectivity. The quality of our connections are worse than ever, outright vitriolic mostly, and the real world connections we’re supposed to have with our community are basically gone. There’s a huge disconnect in your average person’s brain now that wasn’t there before that allowed them to unplug themselves from their fellow person’s humanity and just sees them as something to be upset with.

Primarily, and I’m sorry if I sound like an old asshole, I blame social media and food. We eat sci fi poison and yell at each other online 12 hours a day. If you’re not mentally ill from living that way, you’re not human.

A constant fire hydrant spray of intentionally negative news reporting doesn’t help either. Not all the news is bad, but they only report the stuff that inflames people because that’s what tracks eyes and maximizes profit.

What do you think? I am not afraid of differing opinions.

Shit talking and divisive news programming goes back to Reagan. Repeal Reagan's 'fairness doctrine'.
Forcing the likes of Fox et al, to give equal access and response time to all topics, and sides, might help.

I think we’re a little past that point now. All major news networks are mostly lies and should probably have as much value as the bones in the bottom of a KFC dumpster. You have to find a smattering of halfway decent independent reporters now if you want a shot at the truth.
