psychedelics and suicide reduction * 5

a couple years ago I lost my little brother to suicide. like me he suffered from depression and emotional issues. in and out of psychiatric hospitals and drug rehabs (like me also).

I have been in and out of psychiatric holds for my hole life and the biggest tool I've found to keeping my head on straight has been psychedelics. the only thing that I've found that will snap me out of a suicidal thought pattern and crushing depression...

I don't know where I'd be without these types of medicines, probably in jail or dead....

I really don't care peoples opinion on it anymore, I'm going to do what makes me happy. whatever that be.

My best friend and lover killed himself basically. He talked about killing himself at times and the circumstances surrounding his death are strange. Fentanyl and a fall was involved. Could have been accidental. Not sure.
We tripped together a lot and I can't help but think of him when I trip.

I'm truly sorry for the loss of your brother to suicide.  Depression is a nasty thief that wears a thousand different disguises, and I also get that those that have never experienced true depression are just baffled by how severely it affects people. Know you are not alone, brother. I too have battled the beast for the past 30 years, and, until I tried mushrooms early last year, nothing I ever really helped me feel ok for very long, but with mushrooms, I can get 6 or so weeks of feeling ok before starting to slide back towards my personal hell. I'm glad you found something that helps you. Stay strong and try to stay safe, brother. Psychedelics and mushrooms in particular are surely available to us for a purpose and a reason. The stigma around the use of these things really doesn’t help the situation at all either. They truly help in moderation but ignorant people believe we’re just doing ourselves harm.

it was this month 2 years ago I lost my brother. he drowned running from police high on meth/alcohol.

il never be the same...  I now have a disdain for "GOD" that I don't see going away anytime soon,

I'm sorry to hear of both of your losses divineverdance and Mystikal.

I do believe psychedelics can open the door to relieving oneself of their ultimate false-belief. One whereby their negative ego tortures them with thoughts they swear is their thoughts. Their identification with what is known. That there is nothing more to be explored in this life, nothingmore to be curious about. what has been unconsciously ailing them. And perhaps reveals to them what they have been contributing to their situation/indebting themselves to their romantic partners in codependency or etc..

Sorry if this comes across in some kind of negative way.. I'll get off my soapbox now... Perhaps this is what I would hope (somehow?) get some people thinking

No way for reflection so long as the water remains disturbed.

I quit all alcohol cause it made things worse and made me think of him more.  Bout to quit marijuana as well just been using it to see if it helps but same thing when I use it makes me think of him more and get more depressed.  Haven’t tried pyscahedelics yet hopefully soon I will.  Don’t know what else to do anymore everyday sucks everyday I think about  the same exact things everyday.

Are you addicted to cannabis? Ive found using the Easy Way to Quit method by Allen Carr has enabled me to easily drop my vaping of nicotine. If you're addicted to cannabis perhaps their book can help you

Definitely a good idea to quit weed. It’s really destabilising for me as well… I love it and I end up doing it every day, then it gradually impairs my ability to think clearly over time, which is difficult to notice because it happens slowly. Then one day everything seems to go wrong and I break. I can’t find happiness anymore, even if I’m stoned, and it ruins my relationships.

Some people seem to be able to handle it okay, but for a lot of people it’s a huge negative in their life which is hard to put down.

If you feel the motivation to stop it you should seize that opportunity. You’re not alone :loveheart:

I’m not addicted to marijuana just been using it for depression but it’s not working like it use to anymore and making depression worse.  Been wanting to try mushroom micro dosing for depression but it’s not something people just sell or easy to come by
