Looking for some background on PE7 genetics * 1

Hello shroomery,

This will be my first post on this forum and I hope my brand new account doesn't make a difference in the information I receive because I am in fact very excited to be here.

My partner and I have been researching mycology for the past year or so and finally became confident enough to try our first grow back in September. Our genetics of choice for this first grow were PE7 which are just now starting to pin so that very exciting. We also have TW1 spore swabs we obtained directly MagicMyco because going into this we decided from the very beginning that's the way we wanted to role. That is getting genetic hybrids as close to source as possible. 

For our first grow though we wanted to play it safe as possible. We ended up going with a grow kit that came with sterile 4lb rye berry bag, PooGod bulk substrate (coco coir) and PE7 LC from SheGrowsFungi.

I guess our logic was learn to cook first before we start to play with recipes. Anyways I'm getting off topic, why I am coming to you today is to try and get a little background on the Penis Envy #7 genetics and where they're from? A google search yesterday brought up only two sites that had a small description saying that they were in fact a little rare and a bit of a collectors gene and after reading that I obviously got very intrigued and even more excited about our first grow. I'm currently scrambling to get some plates here to salvage these genetics before our first flush.

Have you listened to the hamilton morris interview with Richard Gutierrez? It is a fascinating account of the origins of PE. I would start there.

I would argue it was a waste of time and one of the most challenging recordings I have ever listened to.

TLDL: He kept growing from aborted fruit spores and was hanging out with a bunch of strippers and/or prostitutes and said "got Penis Envy?"

The rest of the recording is talking about how much he got laid and how much he didn't care about shit.

Yes actually I was listening to it when I wrote this thread but I guess I was on the right track.
I had known that Penis Envy had been around for some time, it reminds me of my punk rock days and listening to the band Crass who have a album by the same name. Strains this old and common would be hard to track down the origins, I align well with the Terence Mckenna story though and content with believing it to be true.

PE7 though seem to be a bit of a mystery and if there was a place to track down its origins I think shroomery would be the place to do it.

OK everyone that might come to this thread in the future looking for info on PE7 (Penis Envy #7) I found reviewing 2021&2022 psilocybin cup that its been a top competitor back to back although still not running into the cultivator who isolated and stabilized, would you call it a hybrid or a genetic idk.

For me though I think I have found the closer  I was looking for, thank you all for the Penis Envy references, the Hamilton story is still very interesting and I've been a long time fan regardless so it was enjoyable to read after listening to the podcast
