Disturbing Story
    #2850030 -

I just heard a very disturbing story that has left me flabergasted...

My friend came over tonight and she tells me her grandma died 2 days ago. Her grandma had cancer and was real bad off, so now she's in a better place now and is no longer suffering...

Now here is the diturbing part...she tells me this story that her grandpa died some time ago and at the time...within days her oldest sister's dog had puppies...so they think this is fate or whatever you would like to call it and her grandma picks out a puppy and they have been inseperable ever since...i guess the dog was even stayin' with her this last while in the hospital...so now...once the grandma died they decide to put the dog down because they feel the dog would be too heartbroken, they worry about the dog's safety and they feel it just wouldn't be right for the dog to go on because they were such lifelong companions...

Now what is all this hibberish gibberish...very confused...

That is somewhat strange. Hmmm, maybe they should see how the dog reacts without her first. That's kinda harsh to kill an animal just because the owner/companion died.

They probably don't want to take responsibility for the dog.

I sure as hell don't want anything to do with my grandma's dog when she dies. I am in fact a "dog person", but that dog is terrible.

Yeah, that really sucks. I understand that a dog gets VERY attatched to it's owner\companion, but just like a human, they can form new relationships and lead a very good life. You should suggest that your family talk to an organization called "Second chance companions". I'm not sure if they are nationwide, but I know they do alot of good in my area by finding new homes for animals.

that's a good idea. Give it a good amount of time to get used to living with other people and if it doesn't go good after a while, then i would say it can be an option. I wouldn't kill it just cause it's owner is dead.

That's what I told my friend...

"That's like when your grandpa died sayin' to your grandma..."Well your lifelong companion died so we're just gonna have to end your life. We don't care if you will be able to cope and move on, possibly find love again. You were too attached to your husband, you no longer can go on."

She said..."No that's different" and tried tellin' me a story and explaining the whole deal...

Told her I didn't see any difference in the situation...still baffeled by the whole situation

you know they used to do that in some cultures...when the husband died the wife would be buried with him, dead or not.

well i guess that would be ok for me...cause when i end up finding a wife...she'll probably be the death of me anyway...j/k...would they kill the wife...or would they bury her alive...

Bury her alive, and I think in some cultures they'd give her a lot of datura to keep her from really struggling.....

...and in a couple of cultures where they burned the dead on pyres, they'd throw the wife on the pyre with her husband.

Damn...imagine the day her husband died...not only is she morning his death...but she's got in the back of her mind...i'm gonna be buried alive or burned to death cause this bastard died...

I know it's a spiritual thing...and I totally admire that kind of dedication to a faith...but man...

Yeah.....and I'm sure the culture was different enough to where the way they looked at it was totally different than any way we could imagine it, but I'm sure not all of those women went willingly.

I wouldn't exactly call that disturbing. But it's definately strange. And putting the dog down is just retarded. That is all.
