Went to Alpine Valley Today...

and took this pic. I thought Phish was playing there today but I found out that's not for a few weeks yet. I was all pumped to see a show tonight. I'm gonna camp in the bushes till then.

i remember when the dead had their reunion show at alpine, there were heads that were bummin' around wisconsin for a while...there was an article in a newspaper where there was a little interview with a head that was found by the police living under a bush at a gas station and they were like

"do you know what day it is?"
"no"
"are you waiting to see the grateful dead?"
"yeah"
"do you know when they are playing"
"no, sometime coming up"

and that happened like a month before the show.

And there was all this shit talking about how "strangers" were living on public/private property and stuff...

Lol.  No I didn't really think Phish was playing.  I'm spacey but not that spacey.  But yeah when I said I would camp in the bushes until then I was thinking of that article you mentioned.  Some hippy dude showed up for the Terrapin shows like a month early not knowing when they played and camped out in the bushes near by.  :lol:

But seriously, I was in the neighborhood today so I decided to drive by just for the hell of it.  Those country roads are fun to drive down, listening to some Dead and smoking some blueberry romulen nugs.  :tongue2:

nice, i just got a first night ticket to alpine valley for $16  :cool: :laugh: :grin: :heart: :thumbup: :sun:.  That's great since i've been saving my money for phish (and i spent like half on the weekend...stupid drunk me) But my brothers friend got arrested for having a bunch of coke and a bunch of weed but the cops didn't really care about the weed, and he just ogt out of jail but is selling his tickets and i can get the first night ticket...if he has a 2nd night ticket i would rather get that one if i can only get one, but either way i'm getting a 16$ ticket:).  Now i just need 1 more ticket, and money for some booze and bud and other stuff.

ummm...i really don't know...i know last year when we got to the lots, not too long before the show, 1 or 2 of my friends bought lawn tickets at the box office thing there. BUt you will definately be able to find them in the lots, not sure if they will be cheaper then face since its their last tour and all, but you will be able to find them. I hope i get both tickets, i probably will...but atleast i got one. Good luck with finding tickets!

where's some good camping around Alpine? I'm just looking for a place to pitch a tent and crash after Friday night before we hit up the Sat show. Somebody recommended the Hoppe Homestead.. but Carol Hoppe told me "they" aren't giving her the permits she needs and can't have anybody at their place.

Also... I've got tickets for Friday.... think they'll be enough extras floating around for Saturday? Not looking for a miracle... just hopin' there'll be some folks trying to get rid of some tix. After seeing all the people trying to hawk tix at Miami, I have a lot of faith that there'll be plenty :-)

there will definately be some floating around...i'm just worried about prices since it's their last tour, but you will find them.

I've never camped up there, but this year i am, but it's on my friends family's private property and we are going with a bunch of people and we are gonna party.

hell yeah...a little over 2 weeks...god i really wanted to go to deer creek too, but i can't pay for it...but alpine is gonna be great.


I have a question.

At alpine valley, once you get into the venue, can you leave to go to the lots and come back in? Cuase if i don't get a 2nd night ticket, i'm thining that maybe one of my friends that i'm going with can come out in the lots but bringing someone elses ticket that already walked in and i use there ticket then...would that work? I would sit in the lawn then.

Wouldn't work. They don't allow re-entry. Once you're in, you're in and once you're out, you're out.

Actually, if ya went around the fence to where the large generators are and hopped it at that point, the generators are on the inside, not out, but anyway, you could probly sneak in pretty easy. If your facing the gate, you would want the left side. Though maybe there is an easier way. I just remember thinking that it would be easy to hop the wall there as i was taking a piss behind the generators.
