Life Magazine - May 13 1957... MINE!

I just feel like bragging.

I dropped by the local antique shop today. Picked up the May 13th, 1957 issue of Life magazine, representative of the first major media coverage psychedelic mushrooms had ever received.

Also picked up a bottle of morphine, about 1/3 full. ... Wonder if it's still good...............

Cool! You should have the article scanned, and post it here. I think that'd be a very interesting read. :laugh:

As to the Morphine, I wouldn't trust it if it were old....

If there's sufficient interest in seeing the article as it was originally presented, I'll certainly be glad to scan it for you guys.

From what I've gathered, morphine is a remarkably stable molecule. Stories abound about people consuming century-old tinctures and getting off. *shrug* :wink:

Nabbed it for six dollars and change. Worth every cent, in my little ol' opinion.

As for the M. Yeap... The antique shops around here have a remarkable stock of old pharmaceuticals. I found a tin of cough drops, too. Active ingrediant: Cocaine. The tin, unfortunately, was empty.
