Liberty caps

Ok... one of my first real good trips came after I had consumed some liberty caps. The visuals were so intense, it was amazing. Now, i was wondering if anyone knows where I could purchase some spores... say of the Liberty cap kinds. Thanks for the help.

Liberty caps are almost as hard to grow as Chantrelles.

Thius shroom grows witrh its mycelia attached to the roots of wild grasses such as Sedge.

Even the experts have a hard time taking months to get for or five or more specimens to fruit.

Yes, very hard to grow, but in Holland Psilocybe Semilanceata is the most common psychedelic mushroom in nature. Easy to hunt in september and october. It's called kaalkopje(bald-head) here.

The active chemicals(psilocybin and psilocin) in Liberty Cabs are the same as in Cubes so the trip won't be very different. Just stick with cubes like MJ said.

Of course you must know that in Latin, Psilocybe semilanceata means naked or bald-head half-speared.

Everyone says that the chemicals are the same; Psilocin and Psilocybin, but I really could notice a differece. Maybe it was a placebo affect but, I don't recall anyone giving me information about the trips being different before hand. Who knows, maybe it is simply that I haven't eaten shrooms to date, with the same potency as the Psilocybe semilanceata. Anyways, thanks for the info...but say I did want to try them again, would it be best to go find them growing, assuming I was cafeful in my identification.

I have picked them, along with "Psilocybe-beaocystis" P.Scriptipes(which MJ will say is the wrong name) and P.stunzis.

Those weak little stunzis used to be my favortie , and they still hold a special place in my heart, as they were the frist "GOOD" shroom I picked.

However picking is FUN anyway, I love finding new(new to me) species. :thumbup:
More then anything I want to find psilocybe cyans, and I NEVER DO.

So now I have spores for an outdoor bed, there are alot of mushrooms stronger then libertys and some are easier to grow, grow them :thumbup:
Copes as MJ said, or Cyans  Psilocybe or Pan

Psilocybe Mexicanna , the easiest after cubes ????(this is what I think after what I have read)

yeah I've found liberties to be amazing, but I don't have a lot of experience with other shrooms. 1.5grams of dried liberties is a good amount :smile:

They are my shroom of choice (and so plentiful here :grin: last month I picked almost 5000 of the wee dudes)

even on the same species/strain of shrooms the trip may be a little different each time like it was for me. different visuals/patterns and different thoughts occur to mind

Yes, set, setting and dosage are way more important than the specie or strain IMO.

my points exactly. people who think different shrooms make them trip differently would have tripped differently with the same shrooms anyway. I could close my eyes and take p. cubes, azures, cyans or any other strain/species and it would have minimial difference other than potency based on dosage. would that be analogous to getting drunk on beer, wine, wiskey?

don't the different levels of the tryptamines in the shrooms (psilocin, psilocybin, baeocystin(sp?)) affect the trip? Liberty caps have a high level of psilocybin in them and relatively low levels of the other two. In fact they have (relatively) the highest level of psilocybin in them.

Your body has to vconvert, through amination, the psilocybine into psilocine before you get off.

However, chemicals can vary form shroom to shroom and from fielfd to field.

Hawaiann Copelandia cyanescens were found to be high in psilocybine and low in PSilocine, whgeras Australinan collections fo Copelandia cyanescens were high in Psilocine and low in psilocybine.

I think the so called "smoother" shrooms, even when you compare cube strain to Cube strain, comes from one strain having less Beaocystin!  :grin: :thumbup: ?

What do you think of that???

Well there is something about liberty caps thats diffrent with orher mushrooms I have tried. But not that they work better or worse, it seems to me that liberty caps can vary alot in potency. Anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

well I found out this now; alkaloid content of
Psilocybe semilanceata is even less variable than that of Psilocybe
cubensis.

so its probably because it is the only magic mushroom i hunt and don`t grow that have given me this impression most likely.

Oh btw, I have heard there is to ways on spreading spores, one is to spray it on some gras and handfeed the spores to the cows, the other is to just spray directly on the soil where it grows grass. Anyone know if any of these methods actually works? and wich would work better?

The effects of baeocystine, norbaeocystine and aeruginascine are all the same as psilocine and psilocybine. There is no noticible difference.

Jeremy Bigwood, Ott and I all tried some baeocysitine back in 1978. IT was no diffenet than eating the shrooms. Nothing seemed different in the highs to us.
