Strange gills

Check out these gills:





They already showed some genetic quirks by having very fat bases on the pins. I've got them printing now, but since they look so light, I'm not sure if anything will eject. The veil was broken and all, so it can't be a case of immaturity.

What do y'all think? Ever seen something like this?
