I never wear sunscreen and sometimes I'm in the sun for 12 hours a day. Well, actually I wear it once at the beginning of spring to get my base tan when I'm in the intense sun for the first time in a while. I have sort of an olive type skin color so I don't burn as easy as most people. I'll probably regret it someday, but I can't stand that greasy feeling of lotion on my skin.

Do black people need less or more sunscreen than whitey?

Is 7up a black people's drink? I know about the grape soda stereotype, but never heard of the 7up one. Grape soda is good. Vernor's ginger ale is best. Be best!

I've never used sunblock or gotten a sunburn and i'm high born (not my words) white spanish and german/slavic.

I spend a lotta time outside too I just tan instead of burning.

Black people got that melanin so they don't need sunscreen for sunburn purposes but they do actually get affected by the radiation and develop epidermal cancer as well. I believe the lack of negative (painful) reenforcement due to sunburn may put them at bigger risk for overexposure.

Many genetic pools of people without a substantial amount of melanin in their skin have better adapted to sunlight. Southeast Asian people, pacific islanders, aramaic people and central american people are among those who rarely get sunburn or develop skin cancers.

It's interesting to me to think white people have evolved a couple different times on earth.
Japanese people are fair, so are the British, Irish, Scottish, Nordic, Slavic, and Germanic peoples. Spain was once dominated by fair skinned green eyed people but have been invaded by many darker ethnic groups in history. If you look at the royal family of spain they are blonde haired and have greenish blue eyes typically.

Black people have been selected for several times as well, aboriginal and african people.

Mildly tanned people with short statures and efficient agriculturally adapted bodies have seperately appeared many times:
Indian, Arabic, Pakistani, Oriental, Kurdish, Pacific Islander, Maori, Native American, Inuit, North African, Turkish, and Certain genetic pools found in mongolia, the balkans, the mediterranian, china, and Sri Lanka.


If we compare success by amount of people of each skin color;
It would seem that about 40-55% of the world is the middle ground of tanning-responsive lighter brown people;
Probably about 25-35% of the world is fair skinned
I estimate around 20-30% of the earth is black.
I've compiled this conclusion by reading about race demographics in every country on earth.
