I don't think the studio version has the guitar solo you're looking for. Sorry you don't like live music. In my book that's like saying you don't like smoking grass. I feel bad for people who don't like grass, because I know what they're missing. But when they smoke grass they don't feel like I do.

i've never really been a very big fan of live music either. but it all depends on the production. a well produced live song/show can be fuckin awesome... but a poorly produced one can make you want to shoot your cd player. it's just so hard to tell what's good and what's not. sometimes you just can't convey the energy of the live experience to cd. an example of this is nirvana's 'muddy banks of the wishkah'. i own and like the cd, but it's just not that great. on the other hand, jimi hendrix's woodstock performance, and grateful dead have some amazing live shit on record. i personally think nirvana's 'unplugged in new york' is one of the best live albums of all time.

by the way that frampton song is damn good, as is that episode of the simpsons. i love the stereotypical way they portray the angry youth.
