What is Realization?
    #25819413 -

Quick 3 min video on Self-Realization.

If anyone is interested in finding out more about this path to Realization and joining our family, come and visit us at www.drukama.com. We’ve recently changed the membership structure, so you can now get access to everything for up to 14 days for free (and really see what we are offering in full). The initial membership contributions have also been hugely reduced :sun:

I can completely understand why you might feel like that. In fact, we are not selling anything, but the site does have costs. I will detail some things to consider below. But, suffice to say, this is not your average meditation website. This is a fully interactive site, with teachings, practices, forums, and most importantly - direct access to personalised guidance from teachers and tutors on the site. This is not just a hobby done in someone's spare time and we have people who give their entire lives (and work full time) for Drukama. Are you suggesting that these people should work for free? How are they supposed to feed their families? Before posting a detailed response which hopefully will explain the concept of contributions, and where those contributions go, I would also like to point out that no one is turned away from the teachings because they cannot afford to contribute and we offer fully sponsored places to those who could not otherwise contribute.

I actually only mentioned the cost, because the costs have actually been discussed here in previous threads and I thought some of the people who read these posts might like to know they can now get a free trial.

I would also like to point out that I am a long-time contributing member here, not just someone who is popping by to try and sell something to you all :sun:

About contributing, the most common response to our requests for contributions or donations toward the Drukama Mission™ is, “Spiritual teachings should be free!” We answer, “The teachings are free.” We don’t charge for anything. However, we do ask for contributions toward a membership to the Drukama Teachings Center™ which encompasses not only the Teachings, but an entire community of practitioners and Teachers all willing to donate their time and energy into the Teachings Center and to your Path. How are the contributions used? We will detail this a little later. Let’s address the “Spiritual teachings should be free!” first.

Since the dawn of humanity, in traditions throughout the world, the spiritual path has been a way for unique and inspired individuals to gain access and knowledge for the purposes of awakening and ridding themselves of the suffering that all people inevitably feel.
Throughout this rich history of spiritual teaching, it was common for practitioners to donate to the Ministry or the Temple itself. Donating toward the Teacher, the Teachings and the Group (the Ministry) is sometimes referred to as giving ‘Alms’ (dana), ‘Dakshina’, ’Tithe’, or ‘Zakat’ which go back in time thousands of years.

The term Dakshina, for example, is a Vedic term which instructs all practitioners to give back to the Teacher for time, energy and for delivering the teachings. Without the Teacher, the Teachings would be misunderstood, misused and mistranslated into what we find today—a contrived concoction of theories and ramblings that get you absolutely nowhere, and an unfortunate mass of deluded people thinking they are actually following an authentic spiritual path.

Donating services, goods and money toward the spiritual community, the Hebrew Temple, the Christian or Catholic Church, the Islamic Mosque, the Zen Monastery, the Taoist Temple, the Buddhist Temple, the Yogic Ashram or Temple, etc., has been a living tradition for thousands of years because it helps spread the message, manage growth, and helps us rid ourselves of karmic greed.

In the old Testament it says, “We obligate ourselves to bring the first fruits of our ground and the first fruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord; also to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God…” ~ Nehemiah 10
The New Testament states, “Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” ~ Luke 21

The Old Testament states, “And those descendants of Levi who receive the priestly office have a commandment in the law to take tithes from the people, that is, from their brothers, though these also are descended from Abraham.” ~ Hebrews 7
The Quran 9.5 states, “…repent, establish prayers, and practice zakat (donation), they are your brethren in faith”

Where is All of This Going?

Here is just a small list of where your contributions are applied:

-- Server and server administration costs. Website development and growth – always with an aim to expand and improve deliverability and accessibility of the teachings. Email server – there are significant costs associated with sending hundreds of thousands of emails through the site.

-- Website community costs – researching, installing, implementing and maintaining an entire community function to the website. Our vision is to have our own private and fully interactive members-only community, including individual “wall” postings areas, live interactive chats, private messaging, etc.

-- Retreats – We will be hosting retreats. As we are able to cover our costs and budget for projects, anything above that will go toward hosting retreats at no cost, or very low cost.

-- Living Center costs – Contributions go into a budgeted fund that supports Living Center costs and will go toward building an actual Living Center.

-- Minister’s Training – This fund covers the costs of bringing minister trainees to our Mountain Center location to live and go through the process of becoming a Minister.

-- Abbot support – supporting our Founding Abbot, as he lives solely to provide the Teachings and training the Tutors, Teachers and Ministers.

-- Much more that is currently in the planning stages.

We hope that the above clarifies your concerns concerning contributions/donations and help you understand why it is important.
As for the courses being “free”, yes, the introductory materials are in order to give you an idea of the value, rarity and genuineness of what we are offering. But in order to be able to keep the Drukama Teachings Center™ running and help pay the cost of running the whole organisation, we ask for a contribution that gives you access to the following:

-- Intensive Core Teachings,
-- Supportive Teachings
-- Assemblies
-- A vast array of practices that cover and tackle the different energies of the body.

And there are many more.

If you consider it fair to pay a Doctor for his consultation and other services, wouldn’t it be fair also to compensate all the designers, audio/video editors, developers, artists, text editors, administrators, teachers and so on, working on this project?

Anyway, don't take our word for it. Come and try the free trial and see if you think it's worth it. That is the entire point!

It's all good man. This will appeal to some people. To you it obviously doesn't. For me, it's completely changed my life. However, I would suggest that before judging, you actually see what we are about. Its about as far from a cult as you can get. There are legal reasons why we have to use some "church-y" language, but actually the whole point is that Drukama is undogmatic. There is no requirement of any belief here, just practices and teachings which will guide people to have their own direct spiritual experiences without having to believe priests, monks or books.

Man?

Of course cults appeal to some people. That's why they're there.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind that you are doing this. I'm just calling it as what it is.

A tiy bit of interaction with European New Age Cults is refreshing.

But I've reached that limit and by this point it is not anymore.

A shot of poison can be good for you but only in tiny amounts.

Definitely have reached that amount.

Not making any assumptions about your gender lol. I'm actually a girl, surprising given my username I know  It's just the way I speak sometimes.

You are free to call it whatever you want. But, I'm saying, before labelling us, maybe give us a fair chance? Beliefs can be very limiting and close us off to so many possibilities.

Much love

Rofl; poison is poison, cult is cult.

You are associated with other cults.

More disussion only legitimizes.

As I said, tiny bits good.

Limit reached.

LoL.  . . . . .

1,000,000,000 $ to donuts that you will bring up Lemuria or Atlantis at some point.

London Calling

(That's my last post anyway.  As mentioned discussion only legitimizes, and my limit or tolerance for poison has definitely been reached.)

This has nothing to do with Lemuria or Atlantis. I actually can't say anything about either of those things, as they are completely outside the realm of my own experience. I don't control the linked threads.

The only thing that Drukama is concerned with is getting people out of the suffering caused by their own minds and into genuine happiness, love, compassion, and bliss which is completely free from external or internal influence - the permanent realization of who we are beyond the small egoic self :sun:

If a wound has been committed

Let us reconvene in 20 years to discuss the translation of our thoughts, unless, of course, Nirvana intervenes.

I question the accuracy of the information in the video. I don't think self-realization, moksha, nirvana, "stream entry" and Christ- consciousness all refer to the same state.

I also agree with life is good that it does sound like a cult recruitment video. You might want to change it and make it sound less cultish if you want to garner more interest.

Thanks for the feedback. Whether or not you think that all of these states are exactly the same thing, the point the video is getting at is that there is a state beyond that of our normal perception. Although it seems like some legendary thing which is not really achievable for the normal person, that may not actually be the case as we begin to move forward out of the Kali Yuga.

I do appreciate the feedback though. We have been a private group for the last 6+ years and the public website is a new venture, so it is good to know what people think. There's a plethora of free material on the site so do check it out without maybe writing us off just yet. It's also true that the site isn't for everyone and may not appeal to everyone and that is perfectly okay too.

Also, just wanted to clarify that I don't run this organisation. I've been a member for the last 6 years and the teachings have profoundly changed my life in ways I could never have possibly imagined a few years ago. In that time I was never asked to pay any money, but now as we expand there are costs which there weren't before, one of the reasons we now ask a small contribution. I actually now volunteer for the group because I really want more people to be able to have a similar experience, rid themselves of suffering and be able to live blissful and ecstatic lives

Well I guess what bothered me was the thread title What is realization? So I clicked hoping for a clear explanation and instead just got an advertisement that rather than clarifies anything, is actually misleading in my opinion. According to what I've read and experienced, there are all kinds of states beyond "normal perception" and spiritual awakenings can occur at different levels of one's being, for example according to Adyashanti you can be awake at the level of the mind and still asleep at the level of the heart. You can also go off into states of psychoses like I have done, which are definitely beyond normal perception but which I'd hesitate to call moksha.
