Just finished episode 1.

Brutal show! But very cool, love the characters and the references to mythical creatures. A lot going on in this show. I have a lot of catching up to do :eek:

i bumped into redwall in the begining of the 3rd grade by stealing it from my friend so he wouldn't have it and it totally sparked my love for reading, having older family that was into dragon lance ect ect helped also but redwall man, good stuff.

What circumstances have led for you to be both active online and also clueless about this very popular show? It's hard to imagine anyone who hasn't at least heard about certain episodes or events from the show at this point...

Very welcome. He's basically one of the most brilliant writers ever.

A little bit unknown these days. Martin is a lead-in to him for sure.

I mean -- insanely genius. . . he incorporated so much into his books..

They are essentially magic + imagination + sci fi + brilliant story telling, + a lot else.

One can't really say enough about them, start to finish.

I read his main corpus at 14, 80% of it, and 20 some years later read them on my phone while camping. . . .

100's of times throughout it, I felt this is the best thing I've ever read.  And, that's after Goethe and all the rest.

It's an amazing website. Catalogs tropes, memes, patterns, motifs, cliches, (etc) in human storytelling.

So, you look up a favorite title and then read about all these different patterns that it shares with others movies. Or, hit the YMMV button and read a bunch of fans talk about their interpretation of events and etc. Or look up all the movies and books that deal with time travel or have a specific trope.

The good part is that they watch for spoilers pretty thoroughly.

I still haven't even started it.  Maybe this weekend.  I ended up binge watching Barry instead.  What a pleasant surprise that show turned out to be.  So fucking dark at times but it's also hilarious and very well acted with quite a few likable and loathsome characters.  Season 2 comes out next month. 

From Wiki: 
Disillusioned at the thought of taking down another "mark," depressed, low-level hit man Barry Berkman seeks a way out. When the Midwesterner reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an actor who is bedding a mobster's wife, little does Barry know that the City of Angels may be his sanctuary. He follows his target into acting class and ends up instantly drawn to the community of eager hopefuls, especially dedicated student Sally, who becomes the object of his affection. While Barry wants to start a new life as an actor, his handler, Fuches, has other ideas, and the hit man's criminal past won't let him walk away so easily.
