"Castle Walls"

What do you guys think of this poem?  I wrote it for a girl I like that is definitely troubled and has probably been abused from what I gather about her.  I think it applies to almost everyone though so I thought I'd post it here.


"Castle Walls"

The world is on the attack
And she’s building walls again
Building them so tall and wide
And arming them with men

Anyone who dares to pass
Must not be weak at heart
For the journey through is perilous
And has already left too many scarred

Archers, cannons, dragons, galore!
Her castle is complete
But will her hero pass the test?
Or will he face defeat?

Atop her throne she lays in wait
Dreaming of the day
The day her fearless prince arrives
So she can finally wake

But there she rests so deep inside
Growing lonely in the dark
The flame that once grew tall and wide
Has been reduced but to a spark

For the walls that she has built so tall
Have done more harm than good
Perhaps it’s time to also build a door
And trust the one who understood
