That's not going to keep me indoors though, I love being outside so fuck that info.

Just be wise and apply something to repel them, I usually don't apply anything which is why I probably have weaponized Lyme and don't know it.

Ticks are so bad in canada because we no longer practice large scale prescribed burning.
Lots of good research done in northern alberta shows this to be the mist likely cause of tick pops explosion

They're as far north as the yukon, northwest territories, and alaska now.

It's a worldwide issue when you follow the research coming out of the lyme mouth.

It's getting out of hand, climate change is a major player in the spread of their hosts.

From the article you linked.

"But the author, Dr. Lyle R. Petersen, the agency’s director of vector-borne diseases, declined to link the increase to the politically fraught issue of climate change, and the report does not mention climate change or global warming. Many other factors are at work, he emphasized, including increased jet travel and a lack of vaccines."

"The study did not delve into the reasons for the increase, but Dr. Petersen said it was probably caused by many factors, including two related to weather: ticks thriving in regions previously too cold for them, and hot spells triggering outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases.

Other factors, he said, include expanded human travel, suburban reforestation and a dearth of new vaccines to stop outbreaks.

More jet travel from the tropics means that previously obscure viruses like dengue and Zika are moving long distances rapidly in human blood. (By contrast, malaria and yellow fever are thought to have reached the Americas on slave ships three centuries ago.)"

"Still, the dynamics of disease transmission are complicated, and driven by more than temperature. For example, transmission of West Nile virus requires that certain birds be present, too."

"Experts also pointed out that the increase in reports of spreading disease may have resulted partially from more testing."

Much more complex than just blaming 0.8 degrees of warming over 80 years.

Regardless, fuck that. Glad I live in the southern hemisphere away from all these issues.

The next world crisis with be a pandemic,  they can engineer viruses to attack specific genomes.

If u make s deadly virus that infects while still in a long incubation period you could kill 90% of the people in the world in 1 swing.

Nuclear war an zoonotic RNA viruses are our greatest threat. U go to the air ports around the the globe an put it in aerosol an slowly leak it u can end the world, you cant stop it either cause they dont check for it all the tsa only cares about drugs zn money like high schoolers.
A good mask is a good investment.

I hate ticks with an unhealthy passion. Mosquitos are annoying but ticks are the fleas of satan.

They pretty good at their job - they hate the fuck out of certain essential oils though, so that's a good start for protection. Basically dousing your legs in lavender oil + some others (I kinda forget as its been years since I've lived near ticks) - the lavender oil which sounds kinda weak - is anything but... sprayed with a like 10% mixture of lavender oil and water, the ticks both seizured and ran away as fast as they fucking could  Also works to a degree repelling other annoyances as mosquitoes and fleas

Not really, theyre trying to set up for the 3rd world war with this Pacific, china thing, islam/jewish/Christian tentions an all that.
But dont worry kiddos it wont be set off yet theyre following rules, itll start when the 10 world unions are established and the city were they meet gets destroyed.

Humans have forgetn about the greats plagues, we think that they cant happen cause that doesnt happen on tv we're to advanced when really were running out of antibiotics at an alarming rate with the rise of STAFF/resistant infection. If we dont have antibiotics thats the fall of modern medicine were u die from simple shit, no surgeries no nothing.

 And a great deal of people dying isn't exactly the end of civilization either as people make it out to be.

Being put back a 1000 years is a pretty big deal an the major drop in genetic diversity shortens the length the species can multiply before inbreeding starts.

Its also a great deal of pain that people will endure an be lost to that you cant comprehend, its not cool to be callus.

Is it callous? Would it set things back 1000 years? Would even a 60% casualties represent an actually meaningful loss of genetic diversity that could remotely lead to inbreeding problems? I don't think so. Shit happens throughout history... it's okay to speculate about the effects. I don't think any of these situations we're discussing are going to represent even remotely a dire threat to civilization & have a lot more faith in the ability in humans to rapidly react and adapt to developing situations than most doom n' gloom hippies forever coming up with new theories as to the approaching destruction of mankind

I mean I guess it's something of a good thing that whenever any new situations arise, a certain amount of people totally freak out and think it's going to be the end of the world  - as hopefully, that means they're the most proactive in working towards countermeasures to said situation. But ultimately, it seems bad for mental health to me.

The 1918 flu was from 1 GI, imagine a weaponized virus inoculated in certain transmission points around the globe.
Imagine 6 billion dead in a few months from drowning in their own lung fluid or internal bleeding.

This is entirely possible, shrugging off 1 death as "it happens" is callus. Humans die off real quick without our technology an society, we are not invincible.

Yeah sure some suicidal country could -maybe- do that just like we could nuke ourselves into Oblivion for no reason similarly.. but lol, I don't know what you're really imagining - it would take a lot of fuck ups on behalf of people whose jobs it is to prevent that sort of thing, a lot of insanely smart, insanely sucidal people with access to immense resources + collision of a completely suicidal govt to even remotely get to that point. What country is interested in killing everyone ? Lolo
