Curious to hear what you all think. Also things you do personally to add to your personal happiness each day.

Happiness is fleeting.

The lower you go, the higher you can get, and vice-versa.

Happiness is the emotion I feel when I am not content or upset. For me its usually a mix of content anyway so its "content happy" or "content upset" it takes a lot to trigger emotions like "joy" or "anger" usually I'm pretty flat.

Saying that because I am flat usually I enjoy things like sunsets because thats all it takes for me to lean "content happy" because enjoying natural beauty makes me feel that way.

"Content upset" is like seeing signs in my neighborhood that say "missing kitty please contact ASAP needs medication!" thats content upset because though it is upsetting to me it doesnt actually effect me.

Joy comes from something more extreme like accomplishing a complicated task, making a move that helps my future, buying things for my friends.

Happiness as an overall outlook is a choice to view the world in a light where the precedence of the moment supersedes both momentary and lasting experience that may otherwise be viewed as detrimental. It’s a way to control reality instead of letting reality control you.

I find I let myself get wrapped up in routines that sooner or later make my life duller and more monotonous, which if left unchecked, can and usually does lead to a decrease in happiness.

Not learning anything new leads to the mind getting comfy with the way it is, but the mind needs to be challenged and exercised.

Compare not learning something to a sedentary lifestyle of sitting on a couch passing the time.

The body gets comfy, and gets used to not moving, which is not a good thing.

Eating better and doing any form of sport and taking care of yourself better will lead to an overall better sense of wellbeing, which will do wonders for the happiness levels.

My opinion of happiness is that most people in the world feel a "void" within themselves that they do not understand.

This void is considered to be what causes us to feel "un-happy" and so we are constantly striving to fill the void with things and experiences that make us feel "happy", even though the very act of attempting to fill the void is ultimately what causes us to feel unhappy.

Simply put... the desire to have happiness (or to be from un-happiness) is what causes un-happiness.  When we finally understand the nature of the self-perceived void within ourselves and we understand that we are ONE with everything and eternity, the very notion of happiness becomes obsolete.

Kind of an interpretive take on the buddhist "Four Noble Truths" i suppose
