You lie all of the time, Akira.  Calling your argument a lie isn't personal at all.  It's attacking the argument.

Calling you a liar would be a personal attack.

Irony.

You are making excuses for someone driving into a crowd of people.  It doesn't matter if they are in the middle of the road or not.  He doesn't have the right of way in any sense of the word.

Saying someone's argument is a lie isn't the same thing as calling someone a liar.  Get with the program.

Yes, they do.  In every state in this country, once they enter the street, they have the right of way.

ok, so when i go and block the street of cars trying to use the road, i'll just say "hey, i got the right of way here!"

 you're just full of it, this time; your "argument" is specious.

J-walking is a crime precisely because you DON'T have the right of way.

Jaywalking isn't a crime, first of all.  Second, pedestrians have the right of way.  You don't have to agree with me, but it's true.

Just because it's illegal doesn't change the right of way.  The driver has to stop for a pedestrian who is illegally in the street.  That's the law, dude.  If you don't like it, stay in Canada where people can apparently pretend pedestrians are like bowling pins.

I'm not gonna argue American law with a Canadian anyway.  What do you know about it?  Frankly, I don't know how I got sucked into even responding to you at all.  You're back on manual ignore.

7 seconds in, hear the Charlottesville car tires squealing from acceleration.

and? he's trying to drive on a fucking street. what is it that people like you don't get about driving on street requiring acceleration, especially if people keep J-walking in your fucking car's path. you have to slowing down and speeding up.

driving in downtown c'ville requires very, very little acceleration; i should know.  it certainly doesn't require the sort of acceleration he displayed.

by the by, he was parked on the far side of a clear intersection with about 3 people walking by his car.  he could have easily turned left or right--completely avoiding any traffic, pedestrian or vehicular--onto perfectly clear streets but instead decided to pass that clear intersection and accelerate at an unsafe rate no matter if there were peds or cars or none at all.

also, the peds were walking behind a car that was stopped at an intersection therefore he would have rear ended that car had the pedestrians not been there to slow him down (he hit that car anyway, i believe).  this demonstrates that he was accelerating at much too high a rate for these very short c'ville city blocks, whether there was a protest or not.

aside:  do you drive a car regularly, akira?

akira_akuma said:
what is it you people don't get?

i can't speak for anyone else, but i don't get why you ignored what i wrote above the first time i wrote it weeks ago (maybe you were in too irrational of a state at the time, i guess) and why you continue to defend actions of a driver that are indefensible in light of what we know about the event and what we can see on video.  you make no sense.

akira_akuma said:
yeah, again, DRIVING, ON A STREET. he's trying to GET SOMEWHERE, and there are people crossing the road...he maybe figures hey, these freaks will stop j-walking and let me through,

if he was trying to get somewhere, he needed only to turn left or right onto perfectly clear streets as soon as he pulled away from the curb, but instead he accelerated in a most unsafe fashion, plowing into a group of people that were crossing the street behind another car that was stopped at an intersection.

oh, and maybe he figured, 'maybe i'll ram into this crowd of j-walkers because i've seen it advocated on forums i've browsed'.

Let it be noted that "before the ramming" refers to 'before the physical crash' and not to 'before the acceleration towards the crowd'. There is no change in trajectory or speed of the car after the swipe - it was not the cause of the ramming.

he already felt in danger, was trying to avoid people, slowing for them, if he wanted to simply plow into all and everyone, he wouldn't have slowed for people in the street, he only "didn't slow" after he was hit. you are still wrong and must resist the truth for your sake of being in ANTIFA.

I don't see brake lights on as he rolls towards the crowd. That means he wasn't slowing for people.
