Silverchair
    #2423878 - 03/12/04 12:22 PM (20 years, 20 days ago)

I haven't listened to Frogstomp or Freakshow in ages.. but I did today, and I must say.. I still love those albums.

Now to get a copy of Neon Ballroom.. Ana's Song is still cool.

anyone else like Silverchair?

Frogstomp rules even today. Israel's son is the best.

I've always dug what I've heard of silverchair, except that song where the chorus is "the water is... very hard to drink". It just sounded like really strange lyrics to a song.
I need to hear more of their stuff, Silverchair is cool.

>Im not a big fan of any music thats come out in the past 20 years

That's too bad. There's been a ton of great music out in the past 20 years, but not if you're listening to the radio or watching mtv or vh1. Granted, classic rock is The Shit, there has been good music since...

that song(tommorow) is about a girl who was murdered at a beach party in newcastle, nsw, australia(their hometown)
i've never liked em, they were a highschool band who won this shitty commercialized school concert called rockestedford(sic) that scouts for talent.
i can't think of a band they havent tried to emulate and through good pr/agents were not label a copycat band.hey no offense to you fans though

True there has been some good music ive heard, but for the most part its been pretty crummy music scene in my life time. espically the music thats been put in front of me(MTV VH1)

I think that depends on what scene you emerge yourself in.
I haven't watched MTV or VH1 in years, so other than overexposure into other mediums and channels, I don't get to hear/watch such filth.

Yes, you guys rock, Silverchair is one of my favorite bands  My favorite album of theirs is neon ballroom but freak show is a close second. Have you guys heard Diorama? ..Cause if you haven't it's a huge difference from any of their previous stuff.

They draw heavily from the grunge scene. Bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc.

Frogstomp was good. I liked the instrumental (number 8) and the last song on that cd most.

Good stuff.

Well frogstomp is a grungy kind of album and freak show as well but i don't think neon ballroom sounds much like those old grunge bands at all.. on neon ballroom and diorama silverchair have their own sound.
