Talking to psychiatrist over the phone

I used to be on meds a couple years ago. I stopped taking them once I left my hometown but I am thinking about getting back on them. Rather than start over with a new doctor, I'd prefer to try n go through the doctor that I used to see, but since I'm not in the area anymore, I'd have to see if I could reconnect or have a consultation with him over the phone.

Would a doctor do this though? I'm gonna call in tomorrow n see what they say but I'm curious what a bunch of anonymous shroomeryers think of this.

I know some therapists will talk to you on the phone, but I'm not so sure about a psychiatrist scripting meds and whatnot. Then again, my doctor will write me a script if I call his office since I live in a different city now, so maybe yours will do the same.
