Pasturizing straw

My friend has a question about pasturizing mni bales of straw. Can he keep the metal around the straw and keep the bale together, or should he separate the straw? thanks

He should probably separate the bale and chop up the straw a little. It doesn't have to be shredded completely, but cutting it up some will help.

Id probably just keep it together... It really dosen't matter though. Whatever way you feel best.

When you are colonizing the straw, just use some books to keep down the long pieces of straw.
