Just something i did 3 years ago, i couldn't make my mind up if i was writing a poem or lyrics to a song that i had made the chords for so the syntax is totally fucked, i duno......anyway i hope you can enjoy and pls note the positive twist i threw in at the end, it was a very representitive sampling of where and who i was at the time 
Dazzled and dreaming
I went from nothin? to doin? o.k.
Now everyone has a straw stuck in my soul,
And they?re slurping away
And I?m feeling less whole
I?ve gotta find a better way
It isn?t that I?ve got nothing to give
But the hole in my heart?s making it harder to live
I?d gladly give all if there were a chance of return,
But there?s no one responding
And I?m starting to burn.
Times running out, I can hear the ghosts call
I look up at the clock, but can?t see the wall
The hands have fallen off and the battery?s dead
The only sounds I hear
Are the screams in my head.

No scars to see, only to feel
I?m feeling so crazy, but to me it?s so real.
Destiny?s receding, the future?s unknown

My thoughts now mislead me
The past that never was, the future never begun.
I fly through the heavens, too sore** yet to die
My wings feel so weak; I?m flying too high
Unable to speak, my feathers stripped bare
The clouds only mock me,
I can see the lock, but the key isn?t there
I make my descent, crashing on a cliff covered in snow
The sea of sharks and empty faces that circle below
Calling to me as if to give up and let go,
To relinquish everything I thought to be mine
To be strangled by the night and never to know

Won?t you stop me from fading, invisible crime?
No scars to see, only to feel
I?m feeling so crazy. But to me it?s too real
My fingers are hurting, I?m losing my grip
My vision is fading, I?m staring to slip
The stars too, are calling, I can feel them smile
The twisted faces and the mindless grins are losing their sway
Eternity beckons, I must run that last lonely mile
My body feels lighter, I?m moving with ease
Towards another dimension, or just another tease
The staircase extends to a world far beyond
I chart my course not knowing for certain
Spastically striving I?m here then I?m gone
I?m dazzled and dreaming,
My mind has stopped screaming
A soft veil surrounds me, its warmth soothes my soul
I try to remember what buffered my fall
All those years of confusion must have taken their toll
Won?t you fly, won?t you shine
Won?t you stop me I?m fading, invisible crime
No scars to see, only to heal
No longer dead, but starting to feel.
* edit: origionally i had thought of putting to soar as opposed to too sore

Really nice... It really parallels a lot of things I have been feeling recently. Of course, that is just based on my intepretation of what I read, but at any rate, I really like it. One more kick in the ass to get me to start writing again... (not that I ever really wrote much before.  )

Thanks for the kind words everybody, it really does mean a lot. i actually got up the next morning sober and was going to delete the post. i think i was going to seek immunity under the "Revealing too much personal information while intoxicated" act of 1998 or something lol. But yeah, it was an honest representation of where i was at the time. The universe still does manage to throw it's usual shit my way from time to time(ok, most of the time) but i just no longer take ANY of it as seriously as i once did, thanks again
