I need help finding the right lawyer.

So my ex has been telling people that I have broken into her house, stole her items. That I have been stalking her, and standing outside her house, along with constantly harassing her. Complete bullshit. She has now talked to the cops and now officers are calling me saying how if it continues, criminal charges will be pressed. Now I got a call the other day saying how I am still apparently harassing her on facebook, which is not possible figuring she has me blocked, and I have no time for that since I put a 100 hour work week in. I need to go talk to a lawyer tomorrow about this but I'm not sure what type of lawyer. Anyone have any idea?

Why would the cops tip you off when they could get some more charges? That looks good on them. That's how cops move up in rank. Making arrests and doing their job...

They could have just waited and then arrested you or arrested you right away. I'd have to agree, something does smell fishyy in here

Something even more fishy is that I called dispatch to see if this officer even exists, and they have no record and told me to call HQ. So, I think she has someone impersonating a police officer.

you don't need a lawyer, u just need to go to the police station, tell them what happened, file a report, and press charges, for something, not sure what, but you'll think of it on the way over

I've had death threats from her friends, and some of her friends who I am good friends with have been letting me know what she has been saying. Getting tired of this bullshit..

Go to the police station and file a report saying you're being harassed and she has people impersonating officers. Unless you really want to drag this through court and shit there's no reason to getting lawyers involved yet. Check your state laws on recording conversations (some only need one person's consent, which would be you, others require all parties) save any text or email type contact, and present all this to the officer in charge of the case. Build a case against her that is more than your word against hers and fuck her hard.

If she's saying enough shit to provoke them in to death threats and impersonating a police officer, now is the time to familiarize yourself with some actual police. You don't want to end up dead just because she's a butthurt bitch. Maybe that's a big assumption, but you never know about some people..

haha, this reminds me of the time that one of my friends thought her ex boyfriend stole her laptop. she called the cops on him and everything. she said the cop on the phone was like "oh yeah, we're gonna fuck this guy over real good. what a dirtbag for stealing ur laptop."

she took LSD for the first time that day, and when she was starting to peak she got a call from her dad that she had just left the laptop on the back deck of her house. so she had to call the cops and be like "um, nevermind. he didn't steal it", then  call the dude's mom and be like "um, nevermind. he didn't steal it."

she said that she'd never had anybody in her life be as mad to her as her ex's mom was on that phone call that day

I was doing 84 hour weeks, doing NDT for refineries. If I wasn't bottom rung grunt I could easily of seen myself doing 100+

Tough shit to do though. It's basically get up, go to work, grab something to eat on the way home, eat and relax for an hour, go to sleep and repeat. Get burned out really quickly.

I build exhibits, movie sets, haunted houses, music video sets, etc.. it's not constant 100 hour weeks, just once every month or two.

Thanks guys. I'm going to the police station tomorrow to report all this and get a restraining order started.
