Limestone Flour
    #2182997 - 12/16/03 05:27 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

Is limestone flour necessary when casing with coco coir? I've read the pH of coco coir is between 5.7-6.5, do I need an alkaline substance to bring it closer to 7.5? Would I be able to find it at Wal-Mart? (tried several hardware stores, no luck).

Sorry if this has been answered, the search is down.

What kind of lime are you looking for? Dolomic lime....or?

It doesn't matter. I'm asking if it's necessary to modify the pH level of coco coir.
