Dealing with a stalker

Dude I used to go to high school with, and I was friends with, I cut off a year ago. I guess He's been stalking me ever since. He's been randomly showing up places I'm at like restaurants, following me in an assortment of different vehicles etc. There are just too many coincidences now for them to be coincidences.

At first I was convinced he was tracking my vehicle with a GPS tracker or something, then I was convinced my phone was bugged. I ended up getting a new phone and a new number and haven't run into him since then, but he still follows my vehicle places.

How should I deal with this? It's not illegal to stalk unless you are causing a threat or fear of being injured. Anyone have any advice or experience with something like this?

Have you tried contacting him and confronting his sneaky behavior?  Tell him you don't want to file for a restraining order, but if he persists you will have no choice.  If it does persist, file the restraining order, and if he violates it call the cops.

I haven't tried confronting him no, I was thinking about it but I have no desire to talk to him. I think you can only get a restraining order if you feel like you are in danger, not to mention the process you need to go through to get one, court process etc.

What kind of phone did you have before you got the new one? What is the new phone? There is a spying app that one can install for android, not sure if it's available for iphone, but once it's installed, you just call the number that you want to track, the other person doesn't need to answer, it can go to voice mail. Once you have called the target phone you want to track, that's all that needs to be done and now he has access to EVERYTHING in your phone. PHotos, music, location history, etc etc etc. Even text conversations. He probably knows all the places you go to.

Get his license plate number and report that someone keeps following you.
